Also Google the Amy Poehler-Superbowl ad.

Ginger, those exterior lights have been up and running for a year or so. Maybe they did some upgrades inside? Probably not Entergy's fault, true, but their reputation here is... not great. Could be the city forgot to pay their power bill because of Mardi Gras - supposedly NOLA forgot to pay their server bill a few years ago during Carnival and couldn't issue any construction permits for weeks. Around here, no telling. I will say it made me root harder for the Ravens, because all jokes aside, I did *not* want the Legend of How NOLA Lost Balmer the Super Bowl.
I got to have dinner with shrift! There was pho involved.

I liked the Clydesdales and the Oreos library commercials.
The Taco Bell one too. Also, extra point to Oreo for this: [link]
(And note the time - within about 10 mins of the power going out.)
The "cleanup" of the google image results has extended to the UK and Jamaica now. I can only assume it's everywhere. And that'll learn me--I should have saved the results, because that search I ran before doesn't give the same results anymore, so I can't find the picture I was using as a lighting reference.
Watching This Means War. This movie is psychotic on so many levles. Like psycho enough to love, and then enough to freak me out. I wish they were sowing the boy on boy ending, though, given that all the endings are basically equal.

I actually bought the DVD, I liked that movie so much. Though I disliked the ending in theaters. Hrmph. Also, I wanted her whole wardrobe in that movie. (And to look like her in it, but...)
I'm sure Entergy has many faults, but since the outage was confined to the Superdome, the odds are in favor of a problem with Superdome equipment. My wild-assed guess is that the Superdome maintains its own substation and a transformer blew. They may have underestimated power usage.
Those lighting systems can power down occasionally. Happens at race tracks. They have to reboot the system. I mean, those are crazy lights and it's not like you get a lot of chances to test the systems in the real world. I mean, someone's probably having to explain things and it looks really bad from a PR stance but I've seen them go down at races more than once. Actually more than once in the same race. So it could have been worse?
Which isn't to say that Entergy doesn't have problems.
I had creme brulee failure today. I made a kick ass creme anglaise though with a burnt sugar topping. I am hoping the leftovers I left at the folks actually set and they can have a nice dessert tomorrow. I don't know if doubling the recipe was my issue or my lack of paying close enough attention. Nothing like failing with an audience.
Creme anglaise with burnt sugar topping sounds too delicious and fancy to be failure, even if you meant it to be something else.
Did this involve a tiny blow-torch, Cassiepants?
