You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Although it gives me time to surf. Those are great pics. I really love the Atlantic's photojournalism posts. They really add to my understanding of whatever the topic is, as well as being visually so striking.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Well, it's that time of year again....

Odd and inappropriate Valentine's cards of yesteryear

Because books.

Oh, msbelle. I'm sorry. But I'm glad you're not fired!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Wait- like his personal stuff that he wants you to do? Or personal stuff about you that he wants to change?

not your mom's socks.

Crap, I'm sorry to hear it, Consuela. You would rock a national position and they need it.

Scrappy, ugh.

Liese - my bank was unhappy too today. Maybe it's sadbank day.

Amy - Go you and your mighty red pen of correctness.

msbelle - I'm glad you're not fired too, but your boss needs a class in communication.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In some places, that's an above-average wage

Hmm. LA? Nope. I don't even know...that's barely even helpful. Certainly hard for one person to survive on here.

Scrappy, you're sticking with HR? Did you do HR before your job there? I guess I could go look at linkedin, but that's a timesuck--other people are probably okay, but since I don't do FB, I use it to stitch life events together.

Like, why hasn't my old boss added a new job yet? Slack, or unemployed???

I got most of my errands done, and it seems like the data centre won't be able to do my tasks this weekend because I didn't fill out the paperwork when I wasn't sure if we were going to pull the trigger. She also yells at me when I cancel change requests, so there's a middle ground I just don't get here.

But sometimes you work with people with whom your entire issue is that you communicate poorly. I don't dislike her, but when I think I've said something, it turns out I haven't really. And she gets irritated at things that are my job because I can't for some reason, explain that I got told to, so I do...

Scandal watchers--how do you see this going two seasons? Five? It's one of those shows where I'm unsure about the longer range general plans they must have pitched to get a pickup. Am curious. It feels like all the irons are in the fire right now, and they don't really have much option to extend a tense status quo, or even change to another one this fertile.

However, there are many good reasons I don't write for TV.

Damn, when will I learn that if it says spicy on the menu, it's spicier than I want? I keep thinking I'm tough stuff, but my stomach is a delicate flower.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesus, Consuela. That's really terrible. Changing the job description during the process seems like something there ought to be a federal rule against? Because seriously.

msbelle, I'm glad you didn't get fired, but sorry it is so fraught there.

Jobs, man. WTF.

I have made it through the week, but my boss told me to be on email over the weekend, so that's awesome.

Sophia - semi personal stuff he has me doing - the MOST important thing to him right now. it's a continuing education thing.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

In some places, that's an above-average wage. Sadly. I couldn't live on that anymore. But my BFF lives on less.

That's below minimum wage in my state, and only a dollar above it in California.

National minimum wage is $7.25, so if that's above-average in places, something needs to change, drastically.
