Grand Central Terminal pictures. #1, #15 & #16 are amazing, but wouldn't want to be breathing air that smoky.

E-fucking-gad, Consuela!!! I am so angry on your behalf. They have been underhanded and unprofessional throughout this entire process.
And in it's own post, so that my anger wouldn't spill over onto something so good: Happy Birthday Olivia!
I was all excited to gt my first response to the 30 or so resumes I've sent out. Alas, it was a job paying $9.00 an hour.
Seriously?!?
Today's fortune cookie:
Watch your relations with other people carefully are reserved.
Huh?
Wow, that is less than my student assistant makes in upstate NY!
Watch ... where your relations with other people are carefully reserved? How? Maybe, "Watch: your relations with other people are carefully preserved." Fun with missing words ...
Meanwhile, I'm already creating a house style guide. Which they don't have after more than a year in business. I'm swinging between weeping with despair and crowing that I will now be able to Enforce the Proper Rules.
Alas, it was a job paying $9.00 an hour.
Jeez, Scrappy. That's not right.
The job I do still needs doing, but only some of it will get done. My Nemesis will continue hoarding information to make herself look good, won't put people in touch with me, and even more will fall through the cracks than already does.
This will at least be consistent with the rest of the country, where they don't have a dedicated person managing the inventory in other regions, either.
I'd had the thought that I could leverage my program into a national position, because the organization doesn't actually have anyone in that role: nobody upstairs has a really good handle on it, and the field is inconsistent because there's no information-sharing or horizontal implementation.
Instead I'm functionally demoted: no longer a program manager, no longer a single point of contact on these issues, and with really limited options for advancement.
... looked at it that way, I don't think it'll be too hard to make the decision.
I agree, Consuela, although I'm sorry you have to.
I regret not bringing All the Clementines to work with me today. So good.
