I have to wonder how some people make it anywhere in IT. I mean, I got my own "to the letter"' issues, but but I hope they are mitigated by the precise roles I play in projects.
When my email said keep me updated by text message to 323.xxx.xxxx please don't call me, or I will think you shouldn't have the minor responsibility this project placed upon you to copy files from point A to point B--a task it took you an hour to work out how to do, between two servers on the same VLAN with no firewalls in between them, partially because they didn't notice one of the drives until I pointed it out.

It's Australia Day weekend here, where the only question about dinner is how to prepare the lamb. My answer: Greek style, marinated in a mixture of lemon juice, mustard and Mediterranean herbs. Roasted along with carrots and oregano potatoes, served with a mint yoghurt sauce. The lamb came out very nicely indeed. Australia Day: celebrated!

You know, I don't think you should defend you choice to copy files from a folder named XYZ to XYZ FOLDER on account of that's what the request says.
Just oops and lets move on--your moral high ground is really weak since the two tickets before you managed to copy to XYZ
and the instructions I attached to the request
didn't actually have "folder" following "XYZ" directly at any time.
Does working in an ISP or data centre suck the life out of people and make them miserable and bitter? I fear these employees are dead inside and only wake from slumber periodically to lash out at customers before grumbling and reseating themselves in sour sleep.

Liese, I'm going to have to agree with you there.
My project is oscillating. Over time, under time, fucked up, working faster...in theory, we need to be done before 9, and right now I have no idea if we will be. If you'd asked me ten minutes ago, I'd have said no. Two hours ago, I'd have said yes.
Computers, man.
