Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

But don't just suggest one thing and be done.

People who suggest I relax (trying!) or take a Benedryl (which is a marvelous antihistimine but doesn't actually give me the sleepy side effect) for insomnia trigger this. I am all for natural remedies. But if they, or medicinal remedies (pharmawhatevers), don't work? Try something else. Especially if you are supposed to be a professional.

ack! Grace that is not good. Bump those numbers up. Or many of us will be quietly freaking out.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There is no way your cousin should or could be enamored of me. I mean, I'm not enamored of me --- why would anyone else be.

I'm only speaking for Megan here, since I like you for my own reasons, but she's gay, and her oldest sister had two (individual pregnancies) premature kids (one of her 3 jobs is for March of Dimes), plus the whole teacher thing (since she's feeling educationally adrift right now), and you were just a perfect storm for her.

As noted, that's Megna. I like you because I know you, and I think you're pretty damned amazing.

I really don't want to go to the ER tomorrow

Come down! Say hi! We can share a room.

:( Poor noodle. Glad you worked out what the immediate problem was, even if not the cause. Some respite is a start.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I think you're all quite interesting, and I can prove it - I don't hang around people who aren't interesting, and I'm still here, therefore you are all interesting. My logic is undeniable.

ita, as much as I love you, I wouldn't want Grace to share a room with you (and I don't think we'd be aloud as she is MRSA colonized), cause she's a germ bomb and will get you sick. Plus, we'll go straight to Santa Monica because they are more likely to have a peds bed if we needed one.

On Wednesday she didn't have pneumonia. She's been on antibios since then. Asthma, maybe?

Grace, breathing is good. Don't scare your mama.

Headache is down a bit but I feel feverish and generally ick. Nap wasn't restfully. Got stuck in a bad dream and couldn't wake myself up. I thought I had, a couple of times but no.

My god, the Santa Monica hospital has changed! I was only going there for outpatient procedures since I regularised the process of the Westwood ER, and they moved those across the streets in at least early 2012.

It was a nightmare to navigate when I worked there, and judging by getting from 16th Street to the ER it's not gotten any better. But rebuilding a hospital without closing it down is no mean task. Westwood at least had the "luxury" of moving into empty digs.

I'm assuming Grace is colonised because she has exceptional circumstances. Is she the only one in the house who is? How does that normally work? I mean, why wouldn't you become colonised from proximity?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Sumi, it's the end of the season for Parenthood. It's up in the air as to whether there will be a season 5.

ita, I'm pretty sure we are colonized. But none of us have been admitted to a hospital that does nasal swabbing so we aren't officially MRSA, while she is. Most people who work in hospitals are colonized also. It's sadly common. So when Grace is in the hospital, she's not in contact isolation, but she is on isolation precautions. (I'd assume you were colonized too given your frequent flyer status... but if you aren't on antibios for 6 or 9 months after being colonized then they remove the designation....it is handy for getting a single room though).

That's interesting Kat--I'd never really thought much about it. And I am kinda curious about myself, but hey. As long as nobody's infected, it's all good.

As for Megan and the stars in her eyes, I told her reports of some very good and interesting people, and she, at a place where she's looking for her post-uni people was definitely happy that I had mine. I don't think the internet is the place for her to find what she's looking for--she doesn't have the sitting down patience for it. But she's between doubles partners now--she's travelling all the time, she's newly married but away from her wife, and even though there's a community of tennis players they are also her "enemies" periodically.

She's got a nutso close and flexible family, so her oldest sister can travel with her a fair amount (for someone who has three jobs...bless technology...and two children, one handciapped...bless extra-extended families), but that's a hard scenario. And I just talked myself into texting her.

Completely tangentially, I hadn't realised that Flashpoint was cancelled, and I missed the penultimate episode. Which...that last one was a doozy.

You know when you just need to step away from people before you start hating them?

The reasons suggested for why Judge Dredd can't be gay aren't coming from a place of well-established only wanting women.

The really really irritating point is that people are reacting based on the top half of an article, because the article explains that Judge Dredd's sexuality is not even up for discussion in canon.

God, people like to be upset.
