Devi goes into the vet tomorrow for probable xrays and something called a nasal flush (which doesn't sound like fun.) Involves sedation. For an almost 16 year old cat with breathing issues.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm going through with this except that listening to her breathe is torture, not so much fun for her and on the off chance they find something either treatable or palliatively treatable, for that, I'm in. Hell, even to be told she's imminently terminal would give me something to pin down and plan out.

Falling apart because the repetitive wheezes just break me (oh, and the heater in my kitchen? Makes similar wheezes when it changes directions. NO LOVE, ME) every 2 days and being relieved that she's currently baking herself in the cabinet that houses the bedroom radiator because that means I can't hear her breathing....well, it is tiresome.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad to hear it, aurelia!

Hope it helps, sarameg.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh, sara, what a rough place to be. I hope they have answers for you.

Nasal flushes are kitty neti pots. I hope it helps the the bitch kitty breathe easier. And you as well.

kitty neti pots

Yeah, that's gonna necessitate sedation with Devi...

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh, sara, I hope things get better.

I haven't donated blood in a few years, thanks to the Lyme (I'm assuming that would disqualified me) and multiple tattoos.

I'd prefer if I could do it with sedation myself.

Sedating an older kitty is risky, I know. I do hope it gives you some answers, some peace and Devi relief too.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Oh sara. Hang in there.

Tattoos only disqualify you if they were within the last 12 months. Piercings, only if they were done with a multiple use tool.

And, of course, if you have paid or been paid to have sex with a street drug user who has had unprotected anal sex while living in England as an active duty member of the military between 1980 and 1995, and have just gotten out of jail, then they don't want you blood.

But, if you had male to male sexual contact for money before 1977, you are good to go.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And....I dropped off the planet while there was an extant emergency change and didn't answer the phone when my manager called.

I...yeah. This is not the week to not have gotten my pain properly cleared up.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Since having a sex life after the age of 8 disqualifies me from giving blood forever, I just have to hope that my donation would have made the difference for somebody from the Westboro Baptist Church or a Chik-fil-A executive.

You know what I don't like? Positional vertigo. You know what we've been careful to medicate away from? The same.

I can stretch when I stand up only to shift my shoulders back. If I raise my hands above my head, it's carpet time.

V. frustrating.
