I know what sub is short for--but since I have *never* seen D/C fen split themselves by Dom and sub I'm wondering if they're equating those to top and bottom. The space is heteronormative enough for that. If I'd heard Dom!Dean or Dom!Cas once I wouldn't be raising my eyebrow at the flood of of sub!whoever fannage suddenly across my dash, which does have a lot of bottom! fans.
