man, I have not looked at Go Fug in a long time. I think I know how I will be spending my evening.
Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I thought Tom and Lorenzo--and their commentariat--got a little too mean occasionally. Saying something doesn't work is one thing, being vicious about it is something else.

Yes, they will skewer someone. But I'm a horrible person, I like that ;)

Concur, though when they back off from the mean and stick to non-scoldy explanations of why something aesthetically works or doesn't work, they're great.
I love the Fug Girls but deeply loathe the setup of the website; TLo are meaner, but (to my eye at least) much less cluttered and much cleaner to navigate.
I follow the same that Vortex does.
I just was at Corporette, and then it took me somewhere else, and anyhow, I have ended up at Talbots online.
They have three fits- The Kate (Hepburn), The Grace (Kelly) and the Audrey (Hepburn). Aren't those women within a very small range of shapes? I can't figure out if there is even a "curvy" fit (I guess that would be Grace, but she seems so cool).
ETA: I think they have discontinued this system, as I am only finding it in clearance.
ETA: They also have a Jackie???? WTF???

Yeah, I read them on a feed.
Chicago people! I can get up to 4 free tix to Wednesday's (Jan 23) show of Other Desert Cities at the Goodman. Let me know if you are interested.
I'm one of those killjoys that foils practical jokes when possible, cruel humor is not on my list of likes.
So not popular the kinds of fashion blogs that are just some random chick taking pictures of herself wearing clothes?
Those I don't get. Commentary, totally. That can cover a wide range of looks and bodies. I'm trying to imagine if I'd follow someone whose output was, say >80% of what they're wearing and what they had to say about what they're wearing and...I guess, if maybe I wanted around half of what they had. Otherwise it would be fairly boring.
At the Westwood ER this morning I asked the doctor if she'd call my neuro to tell him my status. She said no, I could tell him tomorrow. I explained that I wanted him to know today, in case there was any way he could help me today, so I wouldn't have to miss work tomorrow, and be in pain all that time. Nope, she said. She'd only do it if it was acute, and I wasn't acute, so she wasn't going to tell him.
What bothers me is when they transition from "I do not feel this is the proper way to treat migraines" (fair, but I disagree that it's a useful stance, since none of them have a better way to treat migraines) to "I don't think this is worth paying attention to." And, so far, all of the doctors or nurses who start out with the former have ended up at the latter within one conversation. It would be refreshingly honest if they started out there, so I'd know to just leave right away, since they weren't going to give their fair attempt to help me, because they don't really think I have a problem. So fucking exhausting.
