Okay, I disliked Kelly Clarkson's version "Country Tis of Thee" - what did you guys think?
It made my teeth hurt.
I'm feeling like a curmudgeon because I twitch at changes in the tune of iconic songs. Be creative somewhere else, people. Leave "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" alone.
Also, don't do weird little trills because you can't stick the high note in the national anthem. It doesn't require that much range.
OK, who is the middle-aged white guy who just got Jay-Z's signature. Love.
In my world they have that blaring in the residence on a regular basis.
Absolutely.
There was a great line on last week's Frontline about the first term. I don't even remember what the issue was, but some aide said "Do you feel lucky?" and the president said, "Where are we right now? And what's my name? I always feel lucky."
That's cool.
I do wonder why our national songs are so darned difficult to sing.
I've read that the tune for the Star Spangled Banner was originally the tune for a drinking song. I can't imagine people managing that tune while drunk.
What is the name of that instrumental presidential song. That movies/cartoons play? I don't even know if it is played in real life-- but the doo doot doo-doo DOOT do doot-doot da dun da dun DUH! one?
Thank you!! It has been bugging me for several days, and it is very hard to google humming.
I wish my boss would just deal with calling the US embassy for his visa appointment himself. 1) he could speak in French to the people in Belgium. 2) he could answer questions about scheduling much better than I can.
all he has given me is 2 dates to ask for an appt. and to get as early as possible. I can only call from 8-10 in the office while they are open. I hates it.
