Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sara, I hope she's just as strong as she needs to be, and then some.

Cutting my hair made me grumpy, which is 180 from normal. But the barber WOULD NOT SHUT UP. So my hair is too long (it's a hair *cut*, not a hair *leave*, fucker), and he trimmed my hairline, and I got a parking ticket because I counted parking spots wrong (it's one of those lots with central pre-payment, and I counted up from neighbouring space 31, not down) and my eyesight is so shot I couldn't read the amount I owed until I got home.

At least, Megan tomorrow. And they better not intend to come to my apartment, even though we'll basically be passing it to get to Rodeo shopping. Because I am not tidying.

Scrappy, I don't think there are any openings in your area at the big G in L.A., but if you see anything you want to apply for, let me know: [link]

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

This. It's very hard to be worried, especially when you were right once before. I do hope she rallies and gets past the URI and there's nothing else scary going on with Devi. Fingers very crossed.

If you have a moment (or a few minutes) for some pretty impressive cultural whiplash: [link] I can't think of a more thorough "It's not about you."

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Many Devi vibes, sarameg.

The kids have a 3 day weekend, which means I'll need to devote my Monday to them instead of work, but that's OK. We have a friend taking the kids for a double sleepover! I am excited, except I'd be more excited if we weren't invited to come stay for dinner as well. I mean, I like the family and would like to socialize, but as long as you're taking the kids for the night, can you give me the night off?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dag, I cannot believe I do not have a salty snack in the house. I mean, I don't buy them because we snarf them all up instanter and you start wearing those Smokehouse almonds around your beltline.

But I don't want to make a tiny pan of popcorn, dammit.

I keep having the really wrong impression I can multitask while listening to him. Yes, he speaks five languages. *I* don't. So once I flip to another screen, I can't follow him. But I've tried it twice now in five minutes.

Seriously. I never look at the screen for that consistently long without a Winchester on it. Bully for him.

And, considering the cultural gulf, fairly entertaining. We're all the same! Except completely different!

I was totally entertained. Because, yeah, all the same but so very different. The way he'd just merge from one language to another was lovely too.

Except I really did keep thinking I understood Arabic and clicked away to check a progress bar on another screen. All of the sudden I have delusions that I am Antonio Banderas in 13th Warrior and instantly am fluent in other languages.

Anyone have suggestions on what I can do about the car alarm going off for two days, next door? It's on private property, so the police say all they can do is ticket it. I left a voicemail for the apartment management company, but I'm sure they won't get it until Monday. Don't know why the building residents aren't up in arms, but omg I am going insane.
