I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

Burrell, I don't know where the sciatica nerve is!

I had someone in my class observing today and it was the day that the kids from the group home wanted to share about life in juvie. Sigh.

Okay. I have laundry and packign to do.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am curious about what makes the headline "Paparazzi Snaps Nude Photos of Rihanna Changing on Her Balcony" organic? The implication that Riri stepped out of her room to change because she'd rather everyone in the world other than the people in her hotel room see her naked than those she's with...assuming these are legit photos, why even bother printing them? Aren't you up front and centre admitting you're a tool?

I have a Revenge question about Nolan (other than the inhuman sexiness of his vocal affectation--that's delish): when he lost his company, how much money did he lose? It doesn't seem to have made a difference.

There was a gorgeous dress Padma was wearing in the last episode, enough that I'm downloading the ep for screencaps. It's simple enough, but I can't describe it properly--a red A-line dress with form fitting bodice, high round neck, no sleeves, and a thin black belt at the natural waist.

Makes me kind of irritated that the last shopping I did where I had the choice between a red and black dress of the same style, I picked black. AGAIN. Don't I already know that's the wrong answer?

Speaking of answers, I need to learn to avoid outfits that make me look like I have no torso. I'm five eight! There's distance between my boobs and my navel! But in too many of my outfits you can't really tell. I need better shopping discipline.

Today was a waste of 24 hours. Or I wasted them. Either way. I have been flat on my back all day, not in any positive way.

DCJ, much strength to your family.

And I found a pic of the dress: [link] And that page would be really useful if they were going with more of what I like about the dress--the cut of the arms and the slight stiffness of the A-line. I love a good A-line. But they're mostly red and zip--the dress they link to is cute, but I'm not going into craving convulsions or anything.

Like I so often do.

Tech question: my understanding of bing and google's image search technology is that they're looking for text matches near pictures, and that's why sometimes you get a hit for the next person in the article, not the one you're looking for. Is there anything out there that's parsing images for the keywords you specify? I know you can filter by visual cues such as colour at both sites, but I'm interested in more.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Athletic Wear Inspired by Totem Poles by Adidas Originals

How in the world could Adidas be unaware of the problems with this? It's not like other appropriation fails weren't publicized.

18 severed human heads discovered at O'Hare airport

The photo on that article is hilarious. And now the conversation has me saying, "What's in the box?! WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!!!"

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I'd much prefer a package of steno pads and pretzel m&ms to a package of severed human heads.

Right? I was pretty happy when I opened it up. But then, pretty much anything I might actually receive has got to be better than severed heads. Illegitimate severed heads, because I have got no business receiving body parts of any kind.

Ha. Isn't that always how it is?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

The best part, it was during a focused socractic seminar. So when he decided to (over?)share, it was while he had the floor and it was on a discussion of the difference between punishment and revenge. So first he cursed and I had to shut that down. Then he had a million personal stories of how juvie isn't a deterrent how he still does drug and drinks alcohol and how kids like him should be locked away for life.

I couldn't figure out if it were posturing or what.

I handled it as best as I could, but honestly, all last semester he fell asleep in class Every Single Day so this is an improvement? Sort of.
