I'm pretty sure that coffee grounds and egg shells are two of the main components in my compost, heavy on the coffee grounds, for reasons that have more to do with breakfast than with balancing out the ph.

What the heck was the guy standing behind Helen Mirren drinking? Tiny wine bottle through a funnel?
I love Helen Mirren!
Oh, I didn't know I could compost eggshells, either! That's great. Like Burrell, eggshells and coffee grounds are the bulk of my kitchen's organic waste. That, and leftover cat food that the cats spurned. Should I use a composter? I know nothing.
Lisah, [link] . Someone posted that on my FB yesterday.
When I got to my parents', my mother said my grandmother wouldn't be joining us for dinner. I said, Is she sick, or for the game? For the game. At least they won!
Leftover cat food will attract vermin, I wouldn't try to compost that. I use a bin ( and worm bins) and that's nice and tidy, but I've just used a pile before, too. Around Earth Day there are often opportunities to get free or cheap bins, or workshops to build your own.
I also never bother to turn my compost, so I have no experience with the fancy rotating bins. I'm a very lazy composter.
With the recent rat issue, we tossed the compost pile into the green bin and decided to wait for a proper bin. In the meantime, we will just green bin the stuff. Not sure if that's OK to do in most cities but LA composts the green bin for you.
OMG, everyone's face about the James Cameron joke! I am enjoying the GGs already.
what are the circumstances under which someone would be ready to board a subway (no pants), hot high heels and a book?
I knew it would come to this when kids started looking to Lindsay Lohan as a role model.
