Punishingly Intricate

Yes! Was a drag queen thing since the vogueing days.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

All of the sudden I am seeing it everywhere! Especially in reference to Glee actors?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

It probably gained currency because of Drag Race, but they define it in Paris Is Burning, so the term probably dates from the 70s.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

That makes sense!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I mean, c'mon. Does the world need semi-aquatic rodents?

So you probably don't want to know about the ones that can fly, then?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This week is a bad pain week for me, and as a result, other people are mindboggling.

Web design is calling me in a frenzy because all their links are broken, and can I check if the web content management application is working?

Guys? You have a hyphen in your links that doesn't belong there.

That was half an hour while he kept me on the phone while he tried to fix it, which meant I missed the development review meeting where neurotic developer #1 re-reviewed changes that went in front of the board in October. That broke my heart, in a way that involves no heartbreak at all.

Neurotic developer #2 keeps inverting priorities so we can't deliver on our commitments, despite having made the commitments face to face with the users. It's like if someone's not looking over her shoulder telling her to do tasks that involve people not her, she won't. I swear, our team is a haven for developers with anxiety disorders who avoid contact with people outside the team, and avoid mentioning they're falling down on contact they were told to make.

I got so much achieved yesterday, though. Maybe I need to take a walk and come back and dive in...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, ita! I feel that I should apologize for the great thing that just happened to me: I got a call from the guy implementing the results of the earlier clusterfuck, where he said there was a problem and we needed to talk. I called him back, and....it is not at all a problem for me! I see where he was coming from, but it is fine! No issue whatsoever.

Phew.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

ION, I'm getting this additional life insurance and had to talk to my insurance guy about a colposcopy I had (which I don't think he even knew what it was, so not as awkward as it might have been), and just got follow up questions from someone I don't know, and it is all slightly awkward to be discussing with non-medical men I don't know very well.

AAAAAGH.

Went to the doctor yesterday. Have been trying to switch to a new pharmacy, which has parking, instead of requiring a half mile walk like my current one (good for me, but I put it off too often, I can also walk to the one with parking OR drive). So I ask them to send some refills to that new one, and the nurse double checks the address, and I do too, to make sure it's the right one.

....so today I get an automated phone call from the mail-order pharmacy saying "we got your refills! we'll ship them in two weeks!" and I'm like WTF. Call them back--turns out somehow instead of sending the meds to the pharmacy I requested, they got sent to the mail order one (which I NEVER requested, for these particular meds--one I only like to fill occasionally, it's too expensive to get filled regularly, and one I need sooner than mail order could get to me). So I had to call the clinic and bitch, but because it's a huge university practice, I had to talk to someone who has no idea, who has to send it to the clinic, who will do something about it in 1-2 days, who won't even let me know when it happens...ARGH.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think my first clue that I shouldn't have read that was that it involved cats and Hec thought it was great. That was really upsetting to read.

Well, I didn't like it because harm came to cats. I liked it because it was affecting and heartfelt.
