She's so small (and gentle about it) it's not uncomfortable. Nothing like Loki's assaults on my hair post-aveda product.

Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I miss my Koogie cat napping and drooling and kneading in my hair. I gave a lot of breaks to that old lich-cat.
Did she give you any sense of the workability of a home nurse and the treatment you need?
No, she was (wisely) unwilling to make any sort of commitment, even vague. She did say that they are limited to "dose, evaluate, maybe dose, evaluate." With two well-timed doses, and effective Botox, I'd be optimistic, honestly. I just wish I knew who was in the room when these discussions happened--she's from my GP's office! As in, neither of my specialists. They're all under UCLA, so it's not entirely random, but it's hard to work out why the ER went to *him* when he's the only guy who hasn't weighed in on the topic.
Or maybe I just explained it.
I am avoiding my email because...developers.
It cannot be unreasonable to expect .NET developers to know HTML and CSS, right? Or English? We were trying to discuss a solution with one, and apparently .NET wouldn't let her put anything else in the table she was working on. So the business asked her to put the "else" in a div, and they'd lay it over the table with CSS so it looked like it was in it.
She had no idea you could do layers in CSS. Even after she stopped resisting, there was dumbfound on her face.
Other developer replied "Yes, the site has a static IP address" when I asked her if the web site in question was static or dynamic, and that's the email I'm avoiding reading, the one where I told her I meant is the content static or dynamic, because, yeah, all our servers have static IP addresses. It's amazing how some people can turn "of course I don't know that" into condescension.
Betty White! Very cool.
Now I wonder if my grandmother still has her stoles with the faces! Knowing her, she probably gave them to the homeless shelter, along with her Ferragamo shoes.
I am ridiculously fond of antique stoles with faces. They creep Pete out to no end, but I think they're kind of cute. Of course, I always want to do impromptue puppet shows with them.
My only recent experience with home health nurses were the ones through hospice (TOTALLY DIFFERENT SITUATION, not trying to equate at all). Those nurses had DRUGS. And no problem administering. Or leaving them for me to administer. The street value of what I had in my house....damn.
Starbucks is wearing on my nerves, but I don't want to go home. The only other local places are other food/coffee joints and they limit your useage to an hour. If I really go nuts, I could go to the library. Or, gassspppppp, into the office. I should have brought my Ativan with me.
The street value of what I had in my house....damn.
DUDE. They said the normal procedure is to deliver the meds the day before. GOOD LORD.. That's a lot of...yeah.
Ugh Suzi, I feel ya on the house bug front. Starting last week, something started biting the kids, at least we think they are bites. We've scoured and cleaned their room (sleeping in one room these days) but only found one flea and one other bug. Hoping it's not a bed bug, but have no definitive ID yet. No flea dirt, no signs of bed bug stains. And the bites aren't fitting the bed bug pattern, or the flea pattern for that matter. They are getting under clothing, so now we are suspecting mites (which would also explain why we aren't finding any bugs or signs of bugs. But OY! Not happy. Taking down the tree today to at least clear out some space in case I need to start a massive cleaning.
The street value of what I had in my house....damn.
After Tim's mom died, the hospice nurse had to dump the liquid morphine down the kitchen sink with us to witness that she really did it, and I admit that my junkie heart was just a little sad about the waste of primo opiates.
We are trying to refinance and just got the appraisal back, which, given the collapsed local market, we've been very nervous about. Our house is worth more than we thought! We are still underwater, but if we accelerate the payments on our 50k second mortgage and pay it off in five or six years, our house should then be worth MORE than our primary mortgage and we'll actually have some equity.
