Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday MM!

So I decided I needed a new party dress for GaFilk(The banquet has a jazz band for dancing) as I had worn the same dress several years in a row.(plus it was a bit snug around the chest) Went to Macy's 'cuz I had a gift card. Didn't see a lot I liked, and I had to go up a size, since the dresses in my usual size wouldn't zip past my ribs. Found one that I liked that fit, and it was full price. Gift card covered about half the price.

Also? Side zippers are of the devil.

(Yes, I realize this is sort of a "my diamond shoes are too tight" rant.)

See, I prefer side zippers (when I can get them), because as someone who lives alone, I have to be sure I can zip and unzip a dress myself. More than once I have not purchased a dress I otherwise liked, because of that.

The last time, I could not get out of the dress and ended up begging another woman in the dressing room at Nordstrom Rack to unzip me. How embarrassing!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

The water extraction guys are here...hallway carpet is already pulled up. Cats are locked in my room (forgot to do that before we opened the garage door but they were both asleep on my bed).

I was to cry but I can't. I'm just....grrrrrr.

Looking at the added rent versus buying my own, it would take about 2 years for me to be losing money. Seeing as I want to stay in this apartment for another 3 years minimum, I think I'd rather buy. Yes, I'd have to move them, but I wouldn't have to worry about finding a place that includes them, especially if I ever decide to buy again.

The set I have has lasted over 16 years.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The one time I got stuck was one of the very few times I was clothes shopping at Zara's. Still fucking embarrassing. We were on locker room changing terms, but dorking your way into needing her to see you in your undies with your arms immobilised over your head...well, that's a whole different vibe.

Subject switching!

Any Kyle XY fans here? I can't remember having seen him in much else, but Matt Dallas announced his engagement to Blue Hamilton today, also tidily coming out of the closet.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I want to take my mum to Naumkeag in the spring (it opens the end of May). Any suggestions on other places to visit or B&Bs? Stockbridge, Mass. looks freaking adorable, as does West Stockbridge. (I may drop off a resume while I'm there!).

Shopping for a couch. Have the money, but now am torn between "is it too cheap to be any good?" and "will they deliver it up my staircase (I'm in a walk-up)". One I'm looking at is between 5 and 750. It's a corner couch (basically a couch and a chaise lounge). I've never had new furniture before, everything I own, besides the back-breaking papasan chair, is from dumpster diving. I have no idea how to find new furniture.

I CANNOT PILL THIS GODDAMNED CAT! AND NOW SHE WON'T EAT THE GODDAMNED FOOD IT IS GROUND UP IN!

I don't need advice, I know this cat. She is the pickiest thing ever. She ignores treats, pill pockets, butter, cream cheese, tuna, tuna oil, EVEN HER OWN GODDAMNED FOOD. She's never been easy to pill, but she's refined it to a bloodsport in which I LOSE.

She's traumatized, I'm traumatized. I'm gonna have to have them give me something else, cause at this rate, Loki's had a dose of antibiotics, but I'm pretty damned sure Devi has not.

She's got a goddamned bloody nose from this stupid URI, she's being clingy from the goddamned vet trip and the attempts to get the goddamned antibiotic into her.

Fuck this week. And next. I quit.

Cats, man.

I'm watching a Les Mis concert on TV and have severe allergies. How can I do it in a theater out in public?
