I'm trying some "Gameify Your Life" style New Years goals. So far, I have two of the three stars that I can earn today, and I'm working on the third. (First two were for watching some sign language videos and practicing guitar. Third one is for cooking dinner. All things that I like to do, but that work better if I do them more often.)

Yikes! Just bought two pairs of boots (with intention of returning one). I've been looking at black leather boots for months now. What I should have been doing is putting $20 or something aside every week or something and then I'd feel less guilty about spending money on them!
My child has fallen in the shallow end of whiney pond and came as close as he has in 6 months to an old style huff and puff and leave the house and/or fight with me. I AM NOT HAVING IT. I think my NOT HAVING IT rant has pulled him out a bit. I came very close to calling him a fucker. seriously. it has not been a month since Christmas, you do not need any more damn toys. I did tell him he was being greedy.
I made myself go out and walk 4 miles, and now I'm hungry.
good for you shrift.
I have listed 7 of mac's action figures, now listing 3 more and if I can find the boxes I will list 3 more after that.
good for you shrift, msbelle, and Hil and everyone else. after much futzing around, I cleaned the bathroom and made a shepards pie.

How good to read about an effective ER visit, ita !
I know exactly what you mean, Jesse, about the lying. I'd be inclined to ask the landlord's permission up front.
I'm going to agree. Lying might get you through the adoption but the landlord might have differing views on pets you already have and new pets you wish to acquire. And that could lead to badness. Better to be honest and do it right.

The general idea is that I start with a couple of relatively easy things. I get a star each time I do one. Once I get a set number of stars, I get a prize (I've got a whole list of stuff to use for prizes -- things that I want but feel guilty about spending the money on, even though I do have the money if I want them. First one is the new Hereville book: [link] Once I've done those three things consistently for a certain amount of time, I "level up": the stuff I need to do gets harder, or there's more stuff, or whatever. And so on. So I'm not starting with adding a whole ton of new stuff, but I'm eventually getting to all the stuff I want to do. Plus, prizes and stickers. And also, being able to make music and communicate in ASL and have yummy food.
I mean, I think the only other productive thing I've done today is go to the pharmacy to update my insurance info and pick up a prescription. Oh, wait, I also took out the trash.
I need to put a birthday card in the mail.
I have to undecorate the xmas tree and haul it out. I have to undecorate the xmas tree and haul it out. I have to undecorate the xmas tree and haul it out. I have to undecorate the xmas tree and haul it out. I have to undecorate the xmas tree and haul it out.
OK. Getting up now. Moving. Gonna do this thing.
