I just realized my problem! No matter how objectively great my boss is being (and she is being great), this is way worse than the thing I actually got fired over, years ago.
OK, deep breathing and ACTION. Lack of action is how I got into this mess in the first place. Also I keep finding ancient emails that make it other people's fault as well.

Many years ago I imagined building a Pope detector. It would just be a little black box with a light that lights up when the Pope is in town. It essentially would be a clock with the date of the Pope's next visit programmed into it.
This would actually be easy to do now, with a Arduino or whatnot.
