Oh, and lest you were worried I was breaking my miserable NYE's stretch, no worries. We drove out in slight flurries and had crazy snow and ice by the time we got to the neighboring town. Drove past the fancy schmancy restaurant we were going to (this is the one with our buddy who's the chef who brought beef braised for 24 hours in Kona coffee and chutney in leaf wraps for our Blackhawks Stanley Cup party) and it was closed, so we went to the archery range to kill time until it opened, which was closed. Finally gave up and went for sushi, because we didn't want to drive around in the terrible weather, which turned out to be the right call, because the original restaurant never did open.

But all's well that ends with sushi, I say.

A GOAL for 2013! Yes

We stopped in to see my parents, and they were having dinner in the dining room with some of the other residents wearing sparkly hats and whatnot. And then we took my niece out for very casual Mexican--it's around the corner from the Pixar offices, so there were all these Pixar posters on the walls.

And then I saw a unicyclist riding down my street! So fun.

And in an hour I will go to a NYE party, woot. Where I will share Millionaire Bars and drink tasty wine.

Hello from the edge of 2012. I am on a louge chair on the patio listening to various neighborhood parties and watching occasional bursts of fireworks.

Got Nook set up and 50 some pages of book read. Managed to Buffista and Facebook on said device. Next challenge is enabling spellcheck somehow. I miss my red squiggly lines.

Need to go fetch a hair tie because it is pretty windy tonight.
