I fixed an earring, sorted the paper piles that were multiplying and found out the Call the Midwife special started 30 minutes earlier than I thought. Watching it now.

I figured out why writing one to the boss feels wrong. I bought the gifts. If he had given me anything other than what I bought and wrapped for the directs, then yes. Also, this was with company money. so no, I think no card for him.
Also, we finished off Christmas with my cousins I hadn't seen earlier, and one of them is pregnant! I'm excited, because I was starting to worry -- I knew she wanted to have kids and they've been married two years, so.

Oh yeah, no.
In other last-gasp-of-Christmas news, my four year old cousin LOVED the blanket I got her! I thought it was a weird present, but it's pink and cozy and has her name on it, and she was totally into it.
Somewhat similarly: today is my sister's birthday, and when I called I was all braced to apologize for not getting her anything because I know I thought of a good gift but I have been racking my brains for days trying to remember what it was to no avail. The first thing she says is how much she likes the gluten-free Asian cookbook I got her and it's a good thing because it was delivered really early and she's been waiting so long to open it. My brain, so unreliable, but sometimes makes the good decisions even if I can't remember having done so.
Niiice!
YAY -t's brain!
Noah and Grace have been all about books today -- we started with the Magic Treehouse, then the doodled in their doodle books then they decided to make their own doodle books now we are finishing up with math books. It makes for a lovely day.
We also went for a walk at the gardens near home. Which is lovely, even if it was cold. The roses that were blooming were beautiful.
Devi's quacking. As in her URI is back. And all of my cats are overdue for their shots. I swear, I'm gonna take a sick day for the goddamned cats. They cost enough!
We went to visit my sister and her horses today, and despite the bitter cold, the kids loved it. So that was good.
I have no NYE plans. But maybe on NY day I will take twins to look at rose bowl floats. You all are invited too. unfortunately it's lots of people. And cold.
Oo! We don't have NYE plans either, but I've kind of embraced that, in a drink-and-watch-LOTR kind of way. We'd love to go to go see the floats with you. It's been years since we took the kids there. PS I think the last time was with you. And chili was somehow involved.
