Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cider spiked with rum? What is this...abomination?

Last full day in Jamaica we went to Devon House which is one of the many capsules of history that are plop in the middle of everyday life in Kingston. This is more preserved than most--the great house gives tours, there's a courtyard with delicious ice cream, clothes, souvenirs, clothing, etc. So, as well as being photographed for the food event last week (never found out if it was printed) we were recorded (deliberately rhubarbing) walking and stepping into her friends' store.

I don't know how my sister could have more friends. Everywhere we went, she "buck up on" a student, colleague, and/or drinking buddy. Fascinating.

A cousin I hadn't seen in 20 years stopped by the house just as I was leaving, and he was gushing over me, and also my mother, who he hadn't seen since her cancer diagnosis. My sister drove me to the airport, with my father and this cousin in tow, and he was catching everyone up. Apparently an ex of his called up his wife to tell her he had girlfriends. He was saying it was a stupid thing to do, because him always love girls, and him always goin' have plenty girlfriends. My sister suggested he clear that with the wife, and that it was perfectly fine for the ex to call a woman she doesn't know to tell her this. *I* thought he should clear it with the wife, but the ex is clearly on a vendetta of pain, and that's not actually her job--it's between the people currently involved (it's not like she called to talk about her previous affair) to hash out. My father had the sense to just tutt tutt in the back of the car.

This is the guy who formally introduced us to visual porn, so it's not a huge surprise his judgement is a bit flawed (uh, not that porn=flawed judgement, but rather that handing porn to someone else's ten year olds=flawed judgement)

I am one dose short of being able to get to Friday (Tuesday nothwithstanding) and I'm going to be ignored for hours since a trauma is coming in before I can be admitted (since they're not finishing up here).

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Typical Sunday morning here. Nova's on my lap, demanding attention.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I came in to work this morning to find a 5 lb box of cookies on my desk.

So they've told me that admitting will not only garner less medication, it will always have garnered less medication.

I know they mean well, but why don't they read before they talk? "That wouldn't happen" isn't particularly reliable.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

So the hospital is fucking up again? Why am I not surprised? Can you talk to the case worker you saw previously, ita?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I mean, they keep records, right? It's so ridiculous. They don't have to take your word for what's happened in the past!

I'm so glad I didn't get into a tizzy wondering what my cousins' plans for today are. My mother was all, "M is coming in the morning, so we can leave church early!" I figured I would wait until I heard something myself, and honestly, if 10am was the only time to see them, I would catch them next time. So M's sister let me know they will be there in the afternoon, as it turns out. Perfect.
