I insist "it's Jamaica" is not a good enough excuse for not paying attention to your work, but he insists that's just the way.
Heh, Tom's your indignant New Orleans counterpart.

I am at work, but it's quiet here, so that's a plus.
Insent, Scrappy.
I'm at work. There was almost no traffic on the way here.
I seem to be going through another Beatles phase, so I'm listening to Abbey Road. Next up: Let It Be, which I just bought.
There's a toy that the two-year-old likes, so I've been Feliz Navidaded to death already.
People are leaving en masse here at work. I should have time to get to the theater in time for The Hobbit.
I tried to make a case for seeing The Hobbit again, but the husband wasn't having it.
Today's Christmas Miracle:
We found Emmett's stocking.
This is the beautiful hand-made stocking that Emmett's Mom made for him when he was 1 year old and is - more or less - the center of all our co-parenting holiday traditions.
Not having it had cast a pall over my enjoyment of the whole holiday season and bummed me out. Plus EM was getting pissy about it.
I spent six hours tearing through every room in the house on Saturday trying to find it and turned up nothing. So disheartening.
And I thought about it and thought about and thought, "I think I remember I told EM to take it to her house after last Christmas, because this year's Christmas would be at her house."
And she looked again. And she found it. (And she apologized for being mean and blamey about it.)
Exhale.
Yay stocking!
Done with work for the day. Am having roast duck for lunch.
Grocery store run is complete -- brought home roast, potatoes, stuffing, risotto. Also bought chicken, tilapia, another roast and a lasagna, in case stores remain closed for some magical reason after christmas.
In the mail, I received a night time bite guard and a pill case. I'm an old person!
Am having roast duck for lunch.
Oooh, good choice!
