Man I cannot shake this bad mood. I really should have stayed in bed today.

I have had one of those mornings that makes coming into the office feel worth it.
I KNOW.
But, seriously. Sometimes the face to face time makes a difference, and sometimes you still get work done despite potential distractions, and all those distractions did need to happen anyway.
There's a chick back who worked on a project with me with my original boss here. She took time off to have a cute baby, and she mentioned how different it was with him gone (she's not in our part of the org chart), and I had to say--I really underestimated the breadth of his impact. It's totally not just the people that worked for him, but in fact all the projects he was on that he affected markedly.
As in the case of the woman astronaut who drove cross-country in a diaper, educated does not necessarily mean either ethical or sane.
OMG yes.
I am drowning in work, and really annoyed at my bosses. That's TOTALLY a good time to have my annual review today, right?? Oy.

How odd, that exact case came to mind when I first was reading about her. So accomplished; so nuts.
I had issues focusing all day so one of my cohorts and I decided on some Cuban coffee at 4pm. That might have been an error, or maybe I'll work out tonight!

Don't tell them to fuck off.
More stuff is coming out about the P4 scandal.
Paula Broadwell looks like she divulged some CIA secrets in a speech she gave in October. I'm guessing she doesn't get the Bradley Manning treatment.
Holly Patraeus is not feeling particularly forgiving.
Some are speculating that Patraeus didn't start the affair while he was in the army because it not only violated the code of ethics there, he would've been subject to a dishonorable discharge and loss of all benefits including his pension.
Doesn't look like P4 had an affair with Jill Kelley. However, it is very strange that she was able to get the FBI to investigate the threatening emails. They don't follow up on email threats, and the essence of Broadwell's emails are protected by free speech amounting to little more than "stay away from my man."
Kelley basically asked a friend in the FBI to follow up on the emails. This really seems kind of fishy and unlikely. A little too coincidental for the whole thing to topple the CIA director.
Jill Kelley supposedly worked as a liaison with Special Operations Command. On that basis, I can imagine that someone would want to look at it just to make sure that it didn't blow back on SOC.
BTW, happy birthday Jessica!
Dog does not have a microchip. I can bring him to Animal Control tomorrow. Have borrowed a crate from the Humane Society to house him tonight.
Judging from his reaction when I left him alone in the house for 30 seconds while I got the crate out of the car, I don't think this is going to be a restful night for either of us.
Echidna puggle update:
Excellent!
My own echidna update: the family Tea visited Healesville Sanctuary on the weekend. Ryan helped the keepers feed the ducks. But his highlight was that not only were the echidnas active while we were there, it was feeding time! (They get fed a nutritious paste.) The little man was thrilled.
Echidnas also, quite rightly, get a mention in this article: [link]
Yeah, the FBI involvement has been bothering me too. And what is Kelley? She isn't really State, so I guess she is a political appointee? Broadwell may end up getting the Manning treatment, not because she posted as much info as he did out of a stated desire to do so, but because therer is more going on here than we know.
