Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

I'm also giggling at the tree saga. Including Easter tree.

I knew I was being too cocky about being done with my shopping. Despite poking, prodding, talking with the other adults in his life, CJ had one small gift for his dad and nothing for his wife. So, out we went last night and I think finally has them covered. I already got him stuff for his sister. No clue if he has anything for me...but whatever. It is better to give than to receive and all that.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I am virtuous. Well, mostly. Everything that was being wrapped had to be mailed, and my mailables went out Tuesday, including the few cards we send, to the half-dozen people in the world who are not on the internet. The tree is up and lit (take out of box. Put together, plug in. Fluff), and the boxes of ornaments are at hand. The outside of the house has been decorated for nearly two weeks, and most of the inside decor that isn't tree is done.

I asked for a dozen-ish Satsumas, clementines, the little wee ones, mainly to add to tablescapes. I got two whopping bags of near-tangerines, most of which should be eaten or used somehow in the next day or two. Ideas, anyone? I should buy a juicer, right? I can't just peel and throw in the blender?

Juice & freeze, Beverly? Otherwise, find a recipe for an orange cake?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I can't just peel and throw in the blender?

I've considered this, honestly.

My parents are now comfortably set up at a neighbor's while I fumigate their house, and their panicky cat has been hiding under my sofa lounge for the last hour. I'm now visualizing the fun we'll have getting him out from under that and into his carrier for the return trip, and imagine I'll nickname him Dustmop from now on.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Something like [link] is handy to have around, Beverly (and I've seen cheaper versions for sale at grocery stores). I don't see why peeling and blending wouldn't work, though. I may have done that with lemons or limes back in the day, but I only remember dimly.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Yeah, bon bon's tree saga is why we switched to an artificial tree several years back. Eff that noise!

bon, I'd offer to lend you a saw (we have two... I misplaced one and when we got our tree this year, had to buy another then found the original saw), but I see you've got it all worked out.

I sewed a whole bunch of 2x2 pads for under Grace's trache yesterday and now I can't find them. GROWL. So we went to the fabric store, bought more fabric to try it all again today. And I'm making PJs for everyone for xmas eve. I'm an idiot.

I blame watching DIY Yard Crashers at the gym for my need to do shit like this. WTF?!

I hope Hubby is up to wandering the mall on Christmas Eve again. It's one of our favorite Christmas traditions.
