It just started getting ugly downtown, wind and rain, but no very cold yet.

Well, so far my flight was supposed to take off at 2:45, and is now saying at 3:15...except the flight that is coming FROM Chicago to BECOME my flight isn't supposed to land until 3:22 (it did finally take off, over an hour late). So....yeah.

But I figure better to end up in Chicago and have to fly home tomorrow morning than have to do this whole thing over again tomorrow. So fingers are crossed.

OMG, when I got to the butt-slapping I lost it.

I noted last week that I was bummed our Search and Rescue holiday party was cancelled in honor of the victims of the shooting. I found out today that one of the teachers that died was a cousin of one of our sargents. Ok, I understand better now.

So my son's karate teacher, Master Davis, a black woman in probably her mid-40s, turns out to be named Terrell. Just like [link] . I find this very very funny for no real reason.

Also, I am in full-on Bah Humbug Christmas mode. I don't have to worry about food on Christmas Eve, because my in-laws have changed their plans and aren't coming until Christmas afternoon. They don't even seem to realize they are missing the best part (Christmas Eve and morning with their grandchildren.) I have no idea how I am not going to sulk when they do bother to turn up. (What are they doing instead? Going to my SIL's, the way they always do - this year was finally going to be our turn for the first time ever.) BAH.

Ah. I was confused about that but I get it. So sorry for them.

OK, all packed and swum. Need to eat something sometime today, I guess.... I've got my free drink coupons!

So far, my flights are on schedule, but it's a direct, probably coming from the NE, not midwest.

flea, I don't know your SiL, or your in-laws, but it sounds like someone laid a guilt trip on them. That was my SiL's technique every year. She used to brag about it. Now that the kids are grown-up and everyone meets at my daughter's for Christmas, I don't feel the need to slap the SiL across the face every time I see her.

Man, you know the snowstorm is getting bad when only two out of the four weather cameras on campus are working. All four were working earlier today.
