"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm sorry, Jesse. I remember when you got Homer.

brillig

Just lost the Little Drummer Boy game--to some marching band Hubby's watching on TV, with a very enthusiastic drum line. It doesn't sound very good on trumpets etc.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm feeling all christmasy, but it feels a week late, even though christmas is a week away.

I am feeling all humbugy. I wasn't, but then one of the secretaries walked into my office and asked me to give her money for a gift for office services, since they work for everybody but nobody in particular and she didn't want them to be the only one in the office not getting gifts or cards from the people they work for. Okay. a) I gave them my end of the year thank you gift two weeks ago, and b) seriously? You're standing there saying this to the librarian?

On a better note, have I mentioned here that my niece had spinal surgery today? Because she did (for Scoliosis), and everything looks good so far. YAY.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think I won the Christmas song game for good yesterday. While driving I thought "I haven't heard 'Step into Christmas' in ages, and I really like that song," then spun the dial and there it was.

Also, there was actually a time when people thought Elton John might be straight? Exactly how many drugs were people doing back then? [link]

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

ooooh, Lee, good thoughts for your niece. I remember when my cousin was in a body cast because of scoliosis. I hope your niece's treatment is less itchy.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Yay for your niece, Lee!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I have a totally random question. Has anyone else tried TJs cheddar and chocolate cheese?

PMS, Jilli and I devoured most of a block one evening. It was a pretty excellent threesome.

Good news, Lee.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

She is anxiously watching everything he does,

Mr Peabody would be barking madly and going for his ankles. Crated, he would be look like he had been terribly betrayed.

I see that there's been an upsurge in assault rifle sales. Apparently people feel they have to be able to take out a room of first graders even if the assault weapon ban is restored.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think I'm going to *win* the Christmas song game. I haven't worked out how to accidentally hear Do They Know It's Christmas. I've done too good a job insulating myself from the cheese.

Grey's has really scraped the insides out of Ethan Hunt. He didn't have to have PTSD forever, but some other sort of facet of personality would be great. I guess if it's back on with Cristina he might get some A plot time, but that's paltry.

Scandal is pretty extreme week by week, but so far, halfway through last week, I'm worried about spraining eye muscles.
