Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Shit is fucked up all over, yo.

Just to note, I think a lot of these folks being shot on a daily basis in urban areas are African American (that's certainly the case in New Orleans) which I think leads to them being overlooked by the media (also, um, the police.)

Philadelphia, too. I think it's 301 reported gun deaths this year alone. So far.

Homicides in Chicago are nearing 500, and there are still two weeks to go.

In less horrific news, I really like Two Brothers Domaine DuPage, I recently blew past the 3,000 mile marker on my Fitbit tracker, and have I mentioned that my third niece will be arriving in the spring?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Go you!

I know I complain about my mom some times, but have I also mentioned she's a bit of a rock star, science wise? [link]

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, that guy's hot.

I wonder what the national homicide stats are just since the school shooting to now?

Go shrift, you crazy fitbitter you! It is clear to me that my life is much more sedentary than even I'd thought. But that's important to know!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I just googled, and not only does Rochester have the highest per capita murder rate in NY S, but also the highest per capita rate of Olympic Athletes?

Baltimore, too. Though we're under one-a-day murders now, 211 so far (we've been there before.) But we're also a population of only 620K in the city.

So I baked MORE COOKIES. Second batch, I had a bit of a spillover with the golden syrup (I think, I'm pretty sure I put in the flour! but the dough was much stickier ) and they are my platonic ideal of cookies: thin, crispy and buttery melt in your mouth. I'm thrilled!

I also put together my presentation. I think billytea would be proud. I'd say more but I don't want to spoil lisah.
