26 Moments That Restored Our Faith in Humanity This Year

Figured we could all use this this weekend.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Speaking of dark-- I just started watching American Horror Story, and I am starting to think there is something really weird in Ryan Murphy's brain to create this and Glee. Yet , I can see the tonal similarity

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Do you guys think the president will actually die? On Scandal, obvs. And yes, that is some crazy shit. Although I have always been a little bugged by the fact that the chief of staff's husband is covering the White House, I'm glad he's at least as sneaky as the rest of them.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

meara The previews did look pretty messed up. I am interested to see where they're going to take all this.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Scandal is getting really fucked up indeed.

re: school shootings and Jz's post above -

the thing that is getting me right and truly pissed off is that people commenting are proposing solutions to school violence that don't really address the problem. yes, let's make schools into prisons. But, in the most recent event, only kids in two classrooms were affected. So how would that design decision have prevented this? The shooter was buzzed in and a relative of a teacher. So what then?

How would making schools a prison help those who died earlier this week in Oregon?

Earlier this year in Colorado?

All the youth who died this summer in Chicago?

brillig

Company Christmas party tonight. Do Not Want.

It's pseudo-fancy dinner at the nearby convention center--10 blocks away, yay!--wherein we'll sit at a table with people who look at me and say "Tech Support? Oh, yeah, you're in the other building", eat mid-grade catered food, endure speeches from the executives, skits with in-jokes that make sense to other departments, and painfully mediocre entertainment. Bah.

This is my big issue -- most kids who get killed by guns in this country aren't killed in these mass shootings. Preventing those would only go so far in keeping our kids (and everyone else) safer.

Jesse, I"m wondering that myself. I'm also wondering if he does survive, how that affects things like the VP taking over, signing things, appointing justices, etc. I mean, talk about legal madness!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Speaking of dark-- I just started watching American Horror Story, and I am starting to think there is something really weird in Ryan Murphy's brain to create this and Glee.

Right? Last season I always found myself watching Glee right after AHS just so that I'd be able to sleep. Somehow that worked. I don't get to watch AHS any more since they took it away from Hulu.

All the youth who died this summer in Chicago?

Or, say, yesterday? From the Sun-Times:

Seven people —including four teenagers— were wounded in separate shootings since Friday afternoon throughout the city.

Architecture is not going to help that.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Scandal:

I know this this does not deal in realism, but if the President survives. He will not be in a position to make any decisions about governing for months, right? He was hit in the head, so at BEST, he would be out 6 months. Realistically, we are talking 12-24 months. I have not been worried too much about the VP becoming President because that does introduce some interesting plot tension. I am just hoping though that when the President wakes up. And you know he has to, even for a brief moment, that he doesn't have long-term memory loss for a protracted period of time.. Because I will throw something at the tv if he doesn't remember his wife or Olivia or some bullshit like that.
