Sir? I'd like you to take the helm, please. I need this man to tear all my clothes off.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I’m beginning to suspect that the whole CIA is a false operation, meant to divert people’s attention from the NSA, where all the real work takes place.

My grandfather worked for NSA, so I can't confirm or deny that.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

good luck vibes Raq.

I'm still in the middle of my house selling hades. I am hoping this deal closes, but I am getting emotionally prepared for the house to be empty and have to relist in March.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Well, I just bored the shit out of a random social worker. She's not one of the ones on my pain contract, so she was a little distracted and under-invested. Also, when I told her that technically my issues could be addressed safely in less time with less drugs and with less of a drain on hospital resources she brushed the idea off, saying no one was admitted unnecessarily (you said you read my chart...). I tried, then, to explain to her the situations where I was given twice as much pain medication as was usually effective, but in such a way that it didn't help....

She's going to make a note in my file for the social workers on my case.

After all that, the nurse practitioner (I'm admitted again) came over to express her disbelief at the whole foufurrah, since I'd never shown any signs of negative reactions under observation in her area, and she assured me that she was making explicit notes to that effect in my file...again, because she's the third doctor/health pro to say the claims were unsubstantiated THIS MONTH, but none of those three are in the ER.

Suffice it to say, I'm tired. But admission has given me the recommended amount of medication within the recommended window.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That's not a little thing, that, so good on that.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Thanks to my parents house, my girls now have fleas.

I know I'm gross, but I'm also proud that my kitties have been pesticide free for over two years. No problems with fleas, worms. The ocassional tick. Maybe the health problems will catch up and I should have pet ownership rights revoked, but a big part of me sees the whole rabies/etc. fear-mongering as a way for the companies to make money. My kitties are living in a threshhold tolerance that seems to be working.

I mean, wild animals have fleas and ticks, and they're not dropping dead in a pandemic.

Also, the idea that a flea/tick has to bite my cat in order for the pesticide to work . . . hasn't the feared infection already been passed to the cat?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

But admission has given me the recommended amount of medication within the recommended window.

Glad to hear they got something right.

What makes me angriest is knowing that there are people there who know what's the what and yet still every week, week after week, it's a fight to get them to follow the drug plan.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not sure what the next step for me with the social worker I spoke to is...she said she'd leave a message for "my" social workers, but then what? I mean they think it's fine to leave me out of the equation so far, what's going to be different with my radical "I want to do what's simplest, safest, most straightforward, effective, and respectful of everyone's resources" position.

This social worker thought it was strange...

Jilli, I don't understand how you'd work this [link] with a skirts only wardrobe--what am I missing? Isn't that mandatory hands up your skirts and leather under layers?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dag, I want some caramel corn now and just realized I haven't seen Cracker Jacks in stores in forever.

Timelies all!

Back from Philcon. Had fun, though I didn't get to meet up with Sox after all.(She wasn't feeling well, and had to cancel)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bought my Hobbit ticket. I'm making the assumption I'll be flying out to BWI mid-day or so, for the wedding the next day. I should still be conscious...

Hopefully that works out.

Tickets home are exorbitant. Man...if it were optional, I wouldn't spend it. But this is always in the yearly budget.

Damn, that Michonne chick on The Walking Dead is predictably AWESOME.

Which isn't related to the muffins I added too much liquid to...
