No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I just am sad I enjoyed the Rock Me Amadeus fun with P4.

Bailey heard some dog barking outside and is shaking like a leaf. poor thing. she so less high strung being an only dog in a quiet house.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

I’m beginning to suspect that the whole CIA is a false operation, meant to divert people’s attention from the NSA, where all the real work takes place.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

BTW, I am not sure the FBI investigation is because the woman is "high up", I think it was because P4 was implicated in the email.
No, it was the FBI investigation hat turned up his involvement.

move out and draw fire

As much as I can piece it together, Broadwell got access to P4's gmail account and used it to send a nastygram to the other woman.

P4 and/or the other woman contacted the FBI thinking the account had been hacked.

This indicates to me that P4 had not given Broadwell access to his gmail account, and didn't immediately assume she could or would have gotten access.

That further indicates that either his password was crap (as his biographer she was ideally positioned for social engineering to get it if it was a real thing and not "sununuhasdiamondsonthesolesofhisshoes") or that she was provided with hacking tools.

I'm thinking it's the first, because if someone was using her to get info on P4, they made just as big an error in judgment as he did.

And finally, I wonder how many of his affairs are going to come to light now that the string has been pulled.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The FBI has been monitoring P4's personal email account for months.

Which is amusing to me for some reason.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My guess at fallout:

Patraeus goes to conservative think tank for his counterinsurgency expertise.

His wife might stick with him anyway.

Broadwell has succes de scandale with her book, which makes the best seller list, but otherwise her career has hit a weird dead end. Nobody's going to hire her on the lecture circuit to talk about integrity now. She writes second best seller about the scandal itself. Makes money selling it to cable. In three years she wins Celebrity Survivor.

Her marriage ends. She shacks up with Steven Segal.

Our wings are not tired.

Raq, yes, as Hec says, I've used TaskRabbit and found it super useful.

msbelle, [unsolicited advice following] one thing I want to point out - since I have a dog with severe fear issues - when Bailey shows any signs at all of fear, be it shaking, tail under legs, etc, it's very important that you fight your natural instinct to coddle.

It was one of the biggest mistakes I was making with Cayenne, and it wasn't until Cayenne was 10 months old and I desperately sought advice from a dog trainer, that I learned the comforting reaction was the worst thing I could do. Don't even make eye contact with your scared pup, as everything we do that shows attention to a frightened pup reinforces to them that they do in fact have something to be afraid of.

It's best to ignore completely. And if she really is frightened, I'd recommend this leash.

[link]

A leashed dog feels secure knowing that you're in charge and they don't need to be. It's similar to the feeling a dog can get from a crate - that hierarchical structure that allows them to relax. The leash I linked to is great for leashing up Bailey to you while you're in home (or wherever) since you can attach it to her collar and then around your torso (so you don't need to use your hands). When Cayenne is showing fear because I have people over, or there's thunder, I leash her to me, but don't let her hide under me. And then I walk around the house or whatever like usual. Within 5 minutes, she's usually calmed herself down and stopped shaking, etc. That's when I let her off the leash.

Dancing with the Stars may already be in talks with Broadwell.

Hec,

I also heard rumors that he was thinking of stepping down around January anyway. So he clearly had another plan brewing.

Like politics? Lots of rumors about that.

I'm seeing reports now that Patraeus is saying he didn't have the affair until after he left the Army.

And if she broke it off when he became head of the CIA, they basically had two years of foreplay and one month of sex.
