Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, these pics confuse me for two reasons: sandrarose.com/2009/09/amber-rose-before-she-was-black/ -- I don't think she looks white (seriously--why am I supposed to?) and I think she looks like me in the bottom picture, whereas with her hair short I don't think she does.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

She just looks like you because of her expression, though -- I don't think she actually does without the sun in her eyes.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I was going to say the same thing.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

She looks a lot like one of my cousins in the second picture.

Well there are things worse than crying in the hallway, and worse places to cry. I'm currently crying in my migraine doctor's waiting room, because the ER discharged me and said they were not appropriate to treate my headache, and that they wouldn't admit me either--it's not appropriate for the hospital to treat my headache. It's also not appropriate for them to speak to my specialists, which is why I huffed out past everyone without de-accessing the portacath and walked across the way to the medical plaza.

The office staff is all clearly about to leave, but fuck this shit. I'm not just going to miss a movie or a wedding if I can't be treated, I'm missing the weekend. Doc was pretty clear that in her opinion UCLA Westwood was off limits.

Migraine doc is paging the head of the ER now.

Not holding my breath.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Psycho Jesus on a pogo stick ita ! I'd add that this sucks, but somehow I get the feeling you know that without my saying so. I wish there was something we could do. I mean if it was just one doctor, we could take up a Buffista collection to pay the hit man, but as it is ....

Fuck our fucked up fucking medical system - even though there are lots of good people working inside it.

JFC. I hope it helps that it's currently working hours.

Because books.

I really don't understand how certain ER staff can just disregard written orders from a doctor with privileges at that hospital. Makes no sense. Fingers crossed the migraine doc can do something for you.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

What Amy said.

I don't get it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Migraine doctor called the head of the ER and got permission for one proper dose. It's not enough to get me through a whole week, normally--we'll see when I hit the wall.

Anyway, I'm back in the waiting room of the ER. Apparently I lost my bed because I left. Uh, you discharged me? Yes, I did leave before signing docs, etc, but leaving was pretty definitely not my idea, and since the ER refused to call my doc, I had to find someone who would.

I don't know why it's my job to tell them that making these plans IS NOT MY JOB. I do not know medicine, and I do not know hospital bureaucracy. I have instructions from two specialists that just happen to work. Apart from invasive surgery that even that doc doesn't say is shown to help headaches NO ONE HAS ANY BETTER IDEAS.

This kind of emotional ping pong is not my idea of a good time. If I had a drug problem it would be cheaper and less stressful to find a dealer, for Christ's sake. I have a headache problem, hence all the people with medical training.

So, let's see how this goes, whenever it goes. I was afraid for a little that I couldn't travel for the wedding.
