Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That does sound like a good afternoon, shrift! YAY

I am sorry others did not have good days, and hope it gets better soon.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

An actor and AD are parked in front of the snack table running lines. On the plus side, I'm not eating the snacks. On the down side, I can't get to the snacks!

It was good! Casual and relaxed. The guy in charge of the class demonstrated some knife skills at the beginning that were totally useful. Then we broke into small groups and prepared different recipes. I was on the Thai meatball team. Our meatballs were awesome.

I might be in trouble now that I know how to make samosas, though.

K-Bug and I spent the evening running errands and getting dinner. It was nice to spend some time with her and have it not be stressed or with her bf glued to her side.

While we were at dinner there was an Air Force guy eating by himself. I paid his bill, asking for it to be anonymous, but they told him it was me. He seemed kind of confused as to why I would do that and I just told him "Thanks for your service".

how to make samosas.

I know that's not really "shop at TJs", but that's what works for me.

I think you should share the meatball recipe though!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Mmmm, homemade samosas.

I went to see Wreck-It Ralph and it was pretty much exactly what I needed. I knew Jane Lynch was in it (and was awesome) but there was also bonus Alan Tudyk! It was very cute and creative.

Now I am home with some Glenlivet and watching The Pundit: Colbert and Back Again.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Hawkeye Initiative totally owns the image search results. Renner's pushed to 6 or 7. Good lord.

Aimee, that's awesome of Emeline. What a great kid!

'suela, I'm sorry for the shit. Wish things could be better for you.

Sparky, I hope your job is secure, but I'm very sorry about the 50% cuts. That just blows.

2012 seems to be a pretty suckass year towards the end.

K and I had a yelling match of a fight last night. Every day since September it's been an effort to just exist. Like I can get out of bed through sheer will only and everything is downhill from that point on. I just can't, again, have a fight about how I'm a shitty person.

To put the cherry on top, I have my boss's boss visitng my class today. yay.

Yay, Em!

Kat, I'm sorry these last few months are a slog. You're definitely not a shitty person.

My job should be secure, and with my boss leaving the most likely scenario is actually temporary designation that makes me the big boss while they spend a year seeking his replacement (which should come with a bump in salary). That will not, however, stop me from applying to another position that is open in town and that would be more secure (although a federal job, so I'd have to get used to a lot less vacation and half the holidays).

But less evil, Sparky! Big bump would be sweet while looking, though!

Kat, that sounds awful. Will the holidays be helpful time off or just more stress?

I'm so sleepy--to get to my flight this morning I had to leave my cousin's house at 6AM. Mountain time which is 5AM my time. And I kept dreaming I had missed my alarm and waking up. Ugh.
