I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Or go see Wreck It Ralph and THEN get blotto.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

IME, blotto just makes tomorrow harder. One cocktail can make tonight better.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Data are organized

It looks wrong because this sentence can't make up its mind as to whether data is a plural or a mass noun.

Mass noun: Water is organized.

Plural: The pencils are organized.

It either needs a singular verb or a definite article.

Oh wow Aims, that is so fantastic.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Emeline is terrific!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Aims, that is wonderful! Good for Emeline!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Sometimes (ok, a lot of times?), as a parent, you wonder if you are doing *anything* right. Every so often, your kid(s) do something that makes you so proud and shows you that you're doing a good job.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Suela, I've been in a similar space so I know what it feels like, the totally overwhelming. Sending you love, and I'm happy to be an ear if you need one. If you can take a day to yourself, please do.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Aims, that's definitely a kindness to be proud of.

I guess I forgot to leave at 5. Boss walked by and had the everyone-else-is-gone-didn't-we-grow-up-similarly conversation.

I told the co-worker who's been looking to me for advice that the single most important thing when you start managing projects for him is that although there's no official direct reporting from you to him? Anytime you see him, tell him exactly where your project is. This current project I'm helming got jammed solid, stopped dead for two weeks as our issue got promoted to the #1 bug the vendor is working on (well, apparently). Three months ago, he'd have taken my head off. But now I'm making sure he gets almost daily conversational updates, and even if he forgets everything with his million other projects, he doesn't feel blindsided by anything.

I am not too old to learn, it seems.

Okay. Home. Groceries and then home...
