Also, I won't extrapolate to greater Australia, but 'Nursing a hangover, lov?' to the woman buying coffee at a gas station when other customers are buying BEER AT shy of 8? NO LOVE.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I thought they'd been complaining about it stopping being European America.

I assume that's code for socialized medicine (which is code for "not letting poor people just die when they get pneumonia").

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I really feel like people who don't like it here should go back where they came from.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I really feel like people who don't like it here should go back where they came from.

I did!

Quick confab with my mom: she's making dad see a dr when they get back cause she doesn't like the changes she's been seeing, which she tried to explain away before but she's seeing it's so not explainawayable. So. Good? But also worrying.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I thought people came here to escape socialism. Wasn't the Revolutinary War fought to end the tyranny of Karl Marx?

Trust my rage

I'm curious about people's reactions to the Petreaus thing. It's news, I think, because of his job and because he was so well respected, but I saw this play out over and over while I was close to the Army. Does it happen that way everywhere or is the military just really good at infidelity?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Cash, loving Owens' spicy brains!! I'd been huddled away from the intertubes for a while because of All The Craxy and coming back to this was awesome!

sarameg, glad your mom is making you dad see a doc, but understand the worry.

I actually respect him for resigning. He admitted his mistake and took the only step he could. He didn't try to argue that his personal life didn't impact his job, etc.

I think that there is a certain "nature of the job" element to military infidelity. You see a lot of it among police officers as well. Not that it's an excuse, I've just seen it alot.
