I'm with ya msbelle and actually she has all three of her jobs today (PT Tech, babysitting, and Old Navy). Right now she is doing a bit better but she has the kid here, so she can't be mopy.
I asked after a job interview he had last Friday and apparently they are at the background check/DMV check point. Which I take as good news. It would be on an oil rig north of us.
That sounds like a job that would make enough for rent. Just sayin.
I am gonna brag on a guy at work here. He is probably early to mid-30s, married with 3 kids. He decided to change his career like 5 years ago and went back to school. He had an internship with us this summer and then we hired him part-time. He is about to start a Master's program in his field and he valets cars almost every night of the week to make more money. He does the extra work so his wife can be a stay at home mom, but she also does freelance photography work that will fit with their schedule. He can only make the mortgage and bill payments if he works that much, but only for a year or so, then he will have a paid TA position. Anyhow, I told him how impressed I was with his willingness to do whatever it takes.
Today has involved another early morning AND a lot of discussion of statistics and math in the session I'm in (measuring usability). So I'm in a mild form of hell.
(Look, I know that statistics and the assorted formulas for dealing with them are Very Good And Useful Things. They just don't work in my brain, and being in a class that has a strong focus on them makes me feel slightly panicky. I AM NOT A MATH PERSON.)
On the other hand, I found out that not only is there a MAC cosmetics pro store in the mall attached to my hotel, there's also an Inglot cosmetics shop, which is a brand I've heard good things about. And they're open 'til 11! Guess who's going to go foraging for eyeliner and lipstick tonight?
If I pull my scarf over my head, the world will cease to exist and I can ignore it, right?

I knew within an hour of getting here that today was going to be a Bad Attitude day, so I've been trying to stay hidden in my office and talk t as few people as possible, but THEY KEEP NOT COOPERATING
My box of TJ's goodies from Lee arrived. I'm trying to be good and not open it until I'm done with work.
It looks like I'm going ot have to text/call/meet with the bf. I just need to separate the stuff about their relationship that concerns me from the "you were rude to my guest and the living here conditions changed without any renegotiation".
