am paying bills at work. Normally would not be so thrilled at that, but I am getting papers off my desk and that is good, both for my headspace and for the fact that angry boss is a bit ocd about cleared off desks, so this should bode well if he is in the office tomorrow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Back in the high lifeoffice again.

And my email is locked because I got the password wrong on my phone at the start of my PTO. So I can't turn off the out of office message. Which was wrong even before I took Friday off (I will return Friday the 11th? Good job, sickie.)

I've been welcomed back with crunchy seaweed with pizza cheese flakes. I am assuming that's glycemia compliant.

"Compliant" and "complaint" being so close messes me up a lot.

Progressives tend to give people a lot of benefit of the doubt - deserved or not. LW has its own fringe element, and folks who are too precious, but they tend to be marginalized here and there.

Yeah, it's not as if the Left doesn't have its fair share of nutjobs. It's just that ours are usually busy chaining themselves to trees and ramming whaling boats rather than running for political office or stocking armories for their survivalist compounds. The Right seems far fonder of electing their crazies for everyone to see rather than hiding them in the attic.

Pumpkin thinks I should celebrate by petting her all the time. Alrighty then!

I'm trying to button up everything that needs buttoning on my old job so I can start cramming for my new job that I officially start in two weeks.

My new boss and my old manager had a meeting about my transition last week. I don't know if that was supposed to indicate it's been done badly or what. But old manager has been worse than terse. She's had a lot on her plate since coming back from PTO, but I do feel like I've been disappeared from there--other people talk to me still, but there's a void there--I can't even draw her out on conference calls.

Punishingly Intricate

Glad it worked out, sara!

That sucks, ita. My transition is off a product that's closing, at least, so everyone on my old team is supportive and also moving to a new role.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's a rough time for IT in general right now, but that could contribute to an we're-all-in-this-together feeling, rather than a palpable chill. I do know some people think this was an effective promotion, and maybe some people think I think so.

Hell, my first reflex was that I'd been ditched.

I'm glad yours is going well.
