I don't give half a hump if you're innocent or not. So where does that put you?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I really hate the promos for White House down. Weird visceral reaction of YOU CANNOT DO THAT EVEN FOR PRETEND.

Me too.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

WRT Salsa Fresca, I almost added a slightly not-quite ripe avocado to the food processor, but it felt like too much work.

Also, at my friend J's BBQ, her brother took Jalapenos, stuffed them with cheese wrapped in bacon and grilled them. DEAR GOD DELISH. Not hard work, but definitely delicious.

Oh god, my brother does that. Not jalapeƱos, usually some other green chile, hatch if he can get it. Yeah.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Pumpkin went FLYING out the window, indignant at the WET.

That does not seem well thought out.

Well, flying INSIDE. Not out.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Yeah, Ply was missing for hours until finally there was a break in the rain, and then there was a wet THUMP.

I just need to shave these ladies. I can't brush them enough.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Skating in under the wire to wish JZ happy on her day! A wonderful year ahead for you, love, starting with a drain that, well, drains!

not your mom's socks.

Extended happy birthday JZ wishes!

I've finally read every natter and am catching up on other threads. Suzi, many hugs to you and your foot. Steph, I hope your migraine's better?

Happy glow from family beach vacation has been replaced by a list of times and places my mother felt offended, rushed, or unwanted at same. Delivered to me pre-coffee yesterday, with a heartfelt wish that we fix our relationship immediately. I handled it, and I kind of know why she's venting (in the wrong direction) but I really didn't need the lattendant late-night panic attack about doing the same to HPF in the coming years. My shoulders are cranked up around my ears now.

On the other hand, if she's not speaking to me, that lowers my chances of getting another bill for my birthday card, like last year. Ahhh parents.

Sox, if it is any consolation, HPF and K will have each other to talk to about their screwed up mothers. It's a family tradition!
