May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, I was trying to find the ATM machine on campus today. I was told it was in the bookstore and if not in the bookstore, it was in the library. So happily I hop over to the bookstore, no ATM. They told me to go to the library.

I walk into the library, see a functional ATM and put in my card.

DENIED

I put it in again

DENIED

I check my balance on my phone: $$ in account. So I call bank. They tell me the ATM didn't even contact the bank. There is probably a problem with the ATM.

I guess I didn't need cash today anyway. I wonder how far this $1.25 will stretch?

Camp Washington? (Down at the bottom of MLK, when you cross Central Pkwy and it becomes Hopple St.?) Dang, that *is* good chili.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I had plain words with the ED this morning about staffing of the main house. A part-timer had diplomatically brought up last Tuesday how there was no one in the house the previous Friday, and that we should be aware and make sure that someone is in the house to keep it open to when we say we're open to. Boss then vaguely put the responsibility on everyone's shoulders.

My plain words were: it's not the hort staff's job, because our job takes place outside. We can't do our job if we're inside. It can't be the ed dept's job because their office is in a whole different building, and if they're in the house, they can't be teaching. It can't be the part-time staff's job, because they work odd days and are only in until 1 or 3, not 5. So it comes down to three people, one of whom is doing short days because of physical therapy for spine issues. I told him straight up that it was his responsibility to coordinate with the Development Director (the one we all hate) as to who is manning the house, and that leaving it so vague is giving the DD the assurance that there are other people who can handle it.

Unfortunately, the queen was out sick today, so we couldn't put her to the test when he had to leave early (and locked up the house before 5, hypocrite). The woman comes in at 10, takes a two hour lunch, and then leaves at 4. I hope to god he's having conversations with her behind closed doors, instead of giving general reminders about everyone putting in their 40.

Yes! Camp Washington! Yum!

I was going to say that Camp Washington Chili does a 6- and 7-way, but a quick google tells me it's Dixie Chili (6-way adds minced garlic to a 5-way, and 7-way adds a fried egg on top of a 6-way).

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I got caught up! Only because I was home sick today, though.

Does anyone else take Ambien? I have terrible "digestive" problems when I take it. and I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.

We had a major line of thunderstorms roll through this morning/afternoon. My power kept winking in and out and finally went out completely for about an hour. I just took a nap until it came back on.

Gud, sorry about the house.
