They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

When?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Sometime between September 7th and 13th. I am still working out the details.

Because books.

I thought you were going to New Orleans?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay new place, Amy!

I almost didn't manage to eat a crapload of greens for dinner, but then I did! And went for a medium walk after work! Woot.

I am, but I may start in Galveston and drive to NO, or go to Atlanta, or something.

I have my vacation blocked off for that week, too.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ha, ha! Paula Deen got fired.

But before Paula goes, let us remember her greatest recipe.

My motorcycle-riding Uncle Frank died about an hour ago. [link] [link] I don't think I'd mentioned it here, but he developed pneumonia and was hospitalized about a week ago, congestive heart failure and they moved him to Denver, then they found a mass in his lung and it became clear he wasn't doing more than hospice. I don't think they even got that far.

His kids made it out there, as was another of the cousins.

I'm glad it was quick, but damned it. I wish he'd had one more trip. Even with all the other unrelated medical crises this past year, he seemed bulletproof. I don't want to say anything on fb yet so that my other cousins can hear through more personal channels.

I'm going to miss his dry weird humor. My poor Aunt Sue.
