You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My power came back on about half an hour ago after being off for five hours. Just when I was thinking that I should run errands, a torrential thunderstorm started. The storm made it too dark to do much, and I accidentally fell asleep.

We had a huge number of trees down from a storm Thursday. When that happens, the power company often makes temporary fixes, then comes back and replaces poles and the like. I suspect that's what this was, but my neighbor was throwing an absolute fit about how she paid a lot of money for electricity and this was unacceptable. I'm not sure what magic Georgia Power could have worked to keep us from having three years of severe drought followed by a very wet spring.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

When I got up this morning I thought I was reasonably happy and fulfilled in my life, but now that I'm aware that not only do Sunda Colugos and raccoon dogs exist, but that neither of them live with me my life is ruined.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Botanically, a fruit is anything that holds seeds

But people rarely call peas fruit.

You ever click on a few links and get turned about and aren't sure where you are in the internet anymore? I ended up on democracyforum.co.uk and saw a dodgy post signature, and in trying to work out if I was through the rabbit hole or not I ended up on britishpathé.com which seems to heavily feature footage of disasters.

Clearly I shouldn't pursue this more at work, but whut??? I need to file these.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Pom Poko, the weirdest Studio Ghibli film ever made, features Tanuki who like to show off their junk.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think it took till I was fifteen before I had a tomato that tasted like anything...vine-ripened with a little salt changed my mind on the whole thing.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

slow day at work means I am running out of internet. co-worker is still here or I would just read (finishing my first James Patterson/Alex Cross book).

I have repeatedly gone through all the tumblrs I currently look at (goodstuff, eyecandy, eyecontact, suri, tom's, gcs), fug, and here. I cannot watch any video on my connection. Other suggestions from people?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad."

Said someone being quoted on Facebook a few weeks back.

I like that quote. I used it on the last person who gave me the "You know tomatoes are a fruit, not a vegetable, don't you?" line in a kitchen-related rather than botanically-related discussion. Of course, I have yet to convince that same person that corn is a grain.

In fact, I have not totally and utterly given up trying to convince my coworkers that for well-balanced menu planning purposes, corn and potatoes are starches rather than veggies. But I am so sick of fighting it. So I double-up on veggies on my days to plan. Or raid the cupboard for extra cans of veggies to add to the table on other days.

Good e-commerce idea, or bad: Having a "closet" which shows you at a glance everything you've bought from them, gives you a count of items, and the amount you've saved.

Right now it's making me think "Shit! I shop there too much! Must stop!"

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

In fact, I have not totally and utterly given up trying to convince my coworkers that for well-balanced menu planning purposes, corn and potatoes are starches rather than veggies.

School lunches get this one wrong too, though in that case it's for political reasons rather than lack of education.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

When I got up this morning I thought I was reasonably happy and fulfilled in my life, but now that I'm aware that not only do Sunda Colugos and raccoon dogs exist, but that neither of them live with me my life is ruined.

I ADORE jz. That is all.
