I enjoy food too much, but I need to be careful because it's sabotaging the rest of my hard work.

Why must food be so delicious? Why did someone bring the donut cart for charity around this morning?

I realize that I've been dealing with a killer combo of boredom + anxiety the last few months. I just wish the weight would come off as fast as it goes on, man.

I have trouble mustering the motivation to do enough exercise needed to capitalize on the nutrition.

Exercise is my stress relief. It's way more difficult for me to put down the cheese and beer.

Between the heat, the humidity, some anxiety, and an asthma flare-up, I almost fainted on the way home. Not good. Still overheated and can't quite take a deep breath.

So I'm sitting on the couch in a tank top, braless, hair up, in knit shorts, trying to relax and cool down, and I know I'm a fright to see. The BIDs are having a grand good time.

re: pictures and mirrors: I am often startled by my ass. There's a lot more of it than I think.

We sold our house in GA today. I am relieved, but also kinda sad. I really liked our house and neighbors and all.

Folks remember the BIDs lie! And Maria in particular, short of getting liposuction pretty much every woman over 30 has love handles and belly fat. Love your belly, love its curves, and realize anyone who loves you will undoubtedly love them too.

And now I'm wondering if part of why my BIDs have gone into hiding is simply the fact that no one ever takes my photo. I think the last event where there was more than 4 or 5 pics of me was my wedding, and that's including our vacation last summer. So in my head, I still look about 30.

Exercise is my stress relief.

I really, REALLY need to figure out how to make exercise my stress relief. Because the stress isn't going to lessen any time soon, and sitting on the couch staring blankly at Tumblr doesn't seem to be as helpful as I'd hoped.

They were a good reminder that my posture sucks, especially when I am seated. I needed that, seriously.

Reading this I entirely threw back my shoulders and tucked in elsewhere. I'm going to have a widow's hump at 50 if I don't watch it.

Also I wear summer hats on the way to and from work and most days I get a compliment, which is so nice

Awesome, go flea! What are "summer hats"? I'm trying to picture them but all I can think is like, a big floppy sunhat, and you wouldn't need multiple of those?

I definitely wish weight went off as easy as it went on. And I think a magic invention would be a temporary way to turn off your tastebuds and/or sense of smell, since then food would be more fuel and less OMNOMNOM.

Also yay on selling the house! At least it's one less thing to worry about?
