Between the rain, cramps, exhaustion, and not having heard yay or nay from landlady about rescheduling (neighbor lady reminded me that realtor was coming today at 4), I decided to just cave, take a personal day, tidy up the attic, and get this assessment over with.
Still need to email landlady and ask her to stop treating my neighbors like they're my on-site landlords and please speak to me directly, with actual correct information (no one showed yesterday).

SCOTUS opinions in about 10 minutes. Will we get affirmative action (it's the oldest outstanding case)? Gene patents? Same sex marriage? How sad is my life that this is what passes for amusement?
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Last day working for someone else! Last day in the office! Tomorrow, I will be Nora, full time beer writer and consultant.
So Sparky's post led me to SCOTUSblog to see what was coming down today and while killing time, someone linked to an article about Justice Breyer showing up for jury duty. The story is from 2005 but still made me happy.

How sad is my life that this is what passes for amusement?
Right there with you Sparky1! It is better than focusing on my life drama which is unusually extreme at the moment.

So a firefighter rescued a fawn this morning from the forest fire and it is ridiculously cute.
Hah--sparky my roommate and I were discussing the pending cases last night and she texted me to say the gene one had come out.
