I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Who the hell underlines page numbers in a journal reference? What kind of whackass citation style is that?

t grumble

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I wonder if he ships Clint/Coulson or Steve/Tony.

Or both! Although the man is busy.

ETA: Kitty health~ma, Fred.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Today is just a humongous fuckup on my part. I'm angry, embarassed, and frustrated. Apparently "bring all the parties concerned together" is not the right answer to "ita, we're getting nowhere trying to get this other project going, and we only have 2 weeks left." And "I'll create one right now!" is not the right answer to "ita !, can you create one right now!"

If (someone else's) manager is mad at me because I said "you should probably track this last bit", how was I going to get away with "I'm not doing any of the bits, actually, even though the deadline is in ten minutes and there's no way to assign the work and read someone in in that time"?

I really don't get why "Jesus, let's get some traction here!" gets held against me, but the second circumstance where I said "let me convey that information to the central repository where the team will (eventually) assess it" AND THAT'S WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO is as well.

Unrelated to any of those other people, I think I'm the cause of the 3:30 meeting with the CIO being cancelled, not least of all because I ran late for another meeting because of the ad hoc knowledge transfer that prevented me getting lunch.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

no joke, rest a spell, Consuela.

Am I wrong to want to catch the flu so I can justify not doing anything for a week?

As it is, I have to run the linens back to the church, visit Dad & plan his trips east, and go to the family council meeting at the facility.

All I really want to do is sit on my futon and read post-apocalyptic Avengers fic. Speaking of which:

I wonder if he ships Clint/Coulson or Steve/Tony.

Hey, he could read het! There's always Clint/Natasha, which I rather like.

brillig

Or both! Although the man is busy.

"Hm, stories about badass government agents or the symbol of America? I should ask Malia."

edit: "Hey, he could read het! There's always Clint/Natasha, which I rather like."

Bad liberal, my biases are showing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Am I wrong to want to catch the flu so I can justify not doing anything for a week?

Nope. But you can definitely give yourself time to sit on your futon and read post-apocalyptic Avengers fic.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You are allowed to not do anything because you don't want to do anything, Consuela.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My car wouldn't start this morning. Had to wait for the AAA guy to show up. Luckily, it was the battery, and he had a new one for me. Still, not the way I wanted to start the day.

Our wings are not tired.

Pace yourself, Consuela. Immunity takes a hit when you are grieving so you are more susceptible to the flu! Put off anything not essential, and be real objective about what is really required.

Kitty~ma headed your way, Fred.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Starting days with car trouble stinks.

Which, damn, I have a tire sensor on and I need to figure out if it is the same tire that keeps losing a tiny amount of air (okay, nitrogen) or not.

Am I wrong to want to catch the flu so I can justify not doing anything for a week?

I don't know if it is right or wrong, but I think it is understandable. I certainly felt like that.
