"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

David will want these shirts today

Well I wouldn't mind the Studio Kitty shirt. I'm down with Catbus and Gigi.

Congratulations, Gud! (Insert standard statement on head-exploding-low housing prices in Gud's area.)

The DC area has been having historically low numbers of houses on the market, which kept things very quiet, but the prices have just started to explode lately on anything that doesn't need a lot of work. This one is right around the corner from us, and I am all a-gog since it doesn't have a driveway, the yard is really small, no attic or basement storage, the way it is set up makes the living room and dining space look small and not very usable, and the green bedroom isn't large enough for a twin bed. I can't wait to see what it actually sells for. [link]

Meanwhile, we are having the guy out today for an estimate on screening in our porch. I am also grateful for the $$ we invested in fixing up the basement drainage because there were a number of messages on the neighborhood listserv from people with basement flooding from the storms yesterday, and that is not a mess I ever want to clean up again.

Well, that 72k only gets you a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, with central A/C, nice size yard, front and back decks, fenced yard, and two car garage. And the basement is unfinished.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

How can you possibly fit your family into three bedrooms??? (I watch House Hunters -- couples with zero kids need four bedrooms!)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How can you possibly fit your family into three bedrooms???

The fenced yard and two-car garage help.

Well, the kids naturally would like to have backup bedrooms for fail-over redundancy, but they'll just have to make due.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Congrats, Gud!

Also as a side note, wow, as a Los Angeleno, the price of housing in other parts of the country makes me want to weep.

Well I wouldn't mind the Studio Kitty shirt.

I'm feeling serious desire for the Studio Kitty shirt. I can't believe it's losing right now to Free Kittens!! I mean, don't get me wrong, I totes take home an actual free kitten if one appeared, but the Studio Kitty shirt is fab.

What about your Man Cave? And your wife's Crafting Room?? And the Guest Bedroom?

Hey. New board.

That house pricing is crazy even to me, and I just watched my brother buy a house in Tupelo MS. In my own neck of Nashville I would need to pay about triple that to get a house as described, more if I wanted to be in the "nicer" area.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

If I remember correctly, when I was young lots of families had kids sharing rooms and STILL had a guest bedroom. I don't really understand how the family who had our house before raised 12 kids in a three bedroom house with only 2 closets and a dirt cellar, though.
