Kat, when I dropped the kids off at school this am (missed the bus) I saw one of the 5th grade teachers with his son in tow. Thought of you.

I don't know what y'all are teaching your kids, but in my household, Princess Leia and Batman are on the same side.
So are Batman and Superman, but Batman still has kryptonite. JUST IN CASE.
It basically just listed his BMI
I don't even get how the BMI works for kids, given that their weight and height and muscle mass are meant to be changing.

Clearly.
I told you guys about my kids' Harry Potter/Star Wars AU, didn't I? They had Hogwarts all thought out. I can't remember all of it, but Luke Skywalker was the professor for Defense Against the Dark Arts, and the House ghosts were Qui-Gon Jinn (Hufflepuff), Yoda (Ravenclaw), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Gryffindor), and Anakin Skywalker (Slytherin).
I thought BMI wasn't meaningful for kids, esp kids Dylan's age.

Yeah, me neither. I know there are separate BMI charts for kids, but how do you account for growth spurts? And BMI != health, even in adults, AND WHY DO WE NEED TO BE BURDENING 6 YEAR OLDS WITH THIS SHIT?

I talk to D about sexism too - he loves purple and so all of his coats and shoes come from the girls dept, and he does get teased for it. So we talk about how the word "girl" gets used as an insult and how that's wrong and ways of responding to it. (He did ask for his nails to be painted blue instead of purple the last time, so that people wouldn't call him a girl. I never asked how that worked out.)
I'm confused about this Jillifont costume: [link] That's WAY too many legs.
I have an assigned task that I think isn't what we should do (I get to argue a lot more in this role), and I haven't yet been sent the source material to edit. I'm lacking in oomph, but this needs to be done by 11:30. Oof.
Ugh, it's pouring rain, and I have an appointment later that is not that easy to get to via public transportation (like getting nearly anywhere from my office), so I think I'm going to take a cab. I just took a cab on Wednesday! This is more cabs than I've taken all year.
Got three emails for my electric bill. One was I owed almost $400, another that I had a balance of $2, and the next that I had a balance of $55. They were all sent at the same time! But the top two in my inbox were the ones where I didn't have to pay nothing, so I'm going with that.
Stayed home sick today, which, yay no walking in the rain! But, my tummy is very not happy with me.
Julie - I would call the electric company. that doesn't sound like something to ignore.
obviously, somebody made a mistake, but which one? Actually, changing my doctor to the same one as my mom's was not as hard as I feared. Automated system was sort of difficult to use, but did cut down on hold time,
