Ugh, Dana.
Also annoying: why can PBS not indicate in the program schedule when things are a part 1/part 2? I keep getting half of an episode of Prime Suspect or Masterpiece Mystery shows because the Tivo has no way of discerning since they just give the same episode title for all parts.
"The splits" sounds so wrong to me.
Liquor license was approved! Woot! And the liquor board president called the bookstore "iconic."
I'm just involved because they needed a property owner on the license. I'm not going to be working at the bar or anything. Also, liquor license is a good investment in bmore city.
sara, I did not know that's who your employer is. That explains so much.
Congrats!

They issue my paycheck & I try to have a little else possible to do with them. But yes. It does.
I did not know that lisah had a bookstore!
The splits sounds like some sort of disease to me (possibly "the bends")
So wait, getting a liquor license is just a thing you can do? I don't think I've ever lived anywhere where it wasn't a Huge Fucking Deal to add a liquor license to a neighborhood.
Salt Lake City has a months-long waiting list to get any kind of new liquor license. It's not unknown for bribes to be involved.
Yeah, in Chicago it can take a year. Or at least that was the case 15 years ago.
Sara, I really wish you worked for the other contractors. They are much more awesome.
The biggest one of the Detroit 3 still uses Lotus Notes. They have tons of DBs tied into it. They were supposed to be migrating when I left in Sep. 2011. Still hasn't happened. The company that actually issued my paychecks always used Outlook.
Congrats, Lisa! Any specific things you have to stay away from or not do as a licensee? In PA, there's a bunch of things licensees cannot do. For example, I can't work for a beer distributor or liquor company because I'm on our license even though I have nothing to do with the day to day operations of the business. Also, none of us can be criminals or be convicted of a felony.
I can do side splits, not front. I did them as a cheerleader and gymnast, then lost the flexibility. Got it back this year through yoga.
Sophia, she doesn't. Friends of hers do, but the city requires a city-property owner to be on the license.
It took us a bit over a year to get our liquor license. We had to buy it off of another establishment, because the borough quota was reached a long time ago. Now they've switched to a county quota.
I just found out that the reason the application I work with doesn't have a dev environment is because the developer doesn't trust the machine she should have installed it on. So she stopped the installation and supplied her management with prices for a virtual server in our data centre, instead of the machine at her desk.
We're now delayed in a project where she's said she has nothing to do, but the person willing to work (and to teach her, so one day she too can be a Jedi master) has no dev environment. Because of her lack of trust.
I spent so much of yesterday having anxiety attacks and trying to break out of the hospital because I didn't want to look this bad in front of my new director, but I look at how bad some people are perfectly willing to be seen as, and wow.
