I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So, this gala I decided to do arrangements in Soil Moist (the silica you find in your shoes that says "don't eat!") and is sold as a soil amemdment. Friday things were looking murky, and I was cursing myself for being all experimental with flower arranging for a gala. Things still looked like shite Saturday morning, and I redid almost everthing the morning of the gala, and they came out satisfactory.

Days later, I am still receiving kudos for the arrangements and tons of inquiries as to how I did them. ( a lot of fucking around!).

So it seems I got lots of potential interest for sidejobs!

I feel so good that despite my misgivings, they worked out.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I spoke with him about doing some educational stuff other than just reading his assigned summer reading book and he is open to that

One thing that has worked for me to keep me sane over summer has been kid-driven projects. Like letting Franny write her own books, or wanting to make silk screened shirts, or letting the kids teach themselves how to do some kid-level programming, etc. And encouraging them to look things up online and in books. Of course, I now have kids who are much more interested in pulling info than they are in information that's pushed on them.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck, ita. I hope they fix you up right. And soon.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Consuela, that sounds like a wonderful idea.

mac, don't be a turd.

I have Google calender. I hardly use it. I want something that'll yell at me when something's coming up that I need to do.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

msbelle - if you'd like some summer-long science projects that require a small amount of daily follow through, I'd be happy to throw some ideas your way.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Zenkitty,

if you put an appt in Google Cal and set up your mobile phone, you can have it text you when an appt comes up. I used to do that when I had a Razr.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Another possibility:

followupthen.com is a place I use for reminders, esp when I'm overwhelmed. You can set up a mobile phone there too. If you email 8amjun15@followupthen.com with whatever in the body of the email, you will get this in email as a reminder.

I don't use the text message function, but it might work for you. there are premium features for a reasonable yearly fee which I'm happy to pay.
