Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
At this point, Tumblr is probably my favorite of social media sites. (I still love LJ, but hardly anyone is there.)
Tumblr is very visual, and often very funny, and very pretty, and sometimes thinky, in shorter bites.
What Amy said! Plus there's a huge Goth community on Tumblr, which makes me happy. Okay, and a little ::headdesk-y:: sometimes, but mostly happy.
Tumblr is, at its core, a list of pictures. You don't have to understand it beyond being able to say "I like that picture!" "I want that picture on my thingy!" "You have good pictures--I'm going to keep an eye on you, bucko!"
Most of the other stuff it wasn't engineered well for. But that it's pretty good at (I wish it defaulted to higher res, but? Free image hosting. End of whine.).
Huh. It turns out you can

at Cute Overload. This is the picture that broke Matilda and drove her into a cute-squeeing frenzy.
"You have good pictures--I'm going to keep an eye on you, bucko!"
Alternately, half of your pictures are fantastic and the other half make me want to never see you again. So it's full of quandaries too. Not that I am talking about one specific account that is no one here, nope.

I haven't found a perfect tumblr yet, but given the amount of time, money, and effort I put into feeding my ecosystem with only the purest of the shit (almost zero, zero, and a little bit), I don't expect much more. If they talk about things I don't tolerate, unfollow and out of my memory.

Ahahahahahaha. I bet I know who you're talking about.
Speaking of Tumblr, I sent a message to one of my babygoths (well, she's 18, but I still think of her as a babygoth) letting her know that I was unfollowing her Tumblr NOT because I didn't like her or was upset, but because I look at Tumblr at work, and really shouldn't be scrolling past her enthusiastic reblogging of fetish-themed porn (actual porn).

Yeah.

It's just a kink niche they like that is so not my beautiful cake. But half of the posts are quality and I don't always see them reblogged elsewhere. So I kinda squint at each update to determine if I should pause or scroll quickly.
People talking about things I don't tolerate, I just unfollow those.
I think this calls for the Billytea signal:

The guy who does The Oatmeal talks about petting some live bears. Among other adventures in the animal kingdom.
Tumblr Savior, yo. I don't know if the Firefox extension works, but the Chrome version does. And then you can blacklist things, and poof! no more incest shows up on your dash.
Is it safe to admit that I totally don't get tumblr even a little? I feel the same abou twitter, except I do get twitter, I just forget to use it.
I am Kat, except I'm actively avoiding Twitter for fear I'll get sucked in.

Oh, just as a warning (possibly unnecessary), if Franny is any indication, that will start to happen more and more. And the sounds she makes will actually get louder and more squeaky, not less.
