I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Doesn't help at all. I'm so far out of the loop on music

I'm pretty sure this isn't in any loop. Otherwise THE WEB WOULD BE MORE USEFUL. Hear that, web? I hope you feel bad.

I'm not used to seeing men dance like that--usually it's the ladies shaking it and moving their hips.

That's pretty much what caught my sister's attention. The video she sent me was the same guys watching a woman dance in a studio for a few seconds, and then she walks sassily out (blue leopard print leggings and chains--it's sass or run for your life), and then they start doing the same dance, but, I'm assuming, better.

I think the only people ahead of meara are admin, ita, and lori.

There wasn't a chance in hell I was letting anyone else get #1, but lori was totally stealth about snagging her number right afterwards.

Some nerve in my foot is going haywire

In a pain way, or in a not-behaving way? I hate when shit is nerve, and there's nothing much you can do. My elbow went out that way for six hours the other day. Couldn't bring it to my face in feeding myself motions, and then it just stopped. I hope yours just stops the same way.

What, what, I'm OG. Or, um, something.

...also tired. Ugh.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

In a pain way, ita. It hurts when I put pressure on it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Kerry's made it extremely clear that he wants the job, and it will probably go to him. But you know what's even scarier? If Mitt had been elected it would've been JOHN BOLTON.

I'm just going to pretend you said Michael Bolton.

Tomorrow, Chicago!

Woo!

I'm exhausted. I should go rest up so I can be ready for fun with our visiting Buffistas.

It's that pinpoint thin like of pain from one end of pain to the other? I don't even know what to do with it. I go 50%/50%. I figured I moved funny to make it happy, so if I keep moving, maybe it will go bad.

On the flip side, using it for those things hurts, and sometimes you do just wake up with ti fixed.

Which is tl/dr--never could get a doc to explain it.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The easy-listening song stylings of Michael Bolton could bring a lot of peace to the world.

Yep. Luckily as long as I keep my foot up I'm fine so at least it isn't interfering with grading. But it is stopping me from walking to the kitchen and pouring myself a nightcap. Because grading.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That sounds like no fun, Burrell.

So....I just sent off a song to one of my songwriting idols for critique. Meep! It's the guy who wrote some of the original music in "That Thing You Do."

He'd started offering songwriting critiques (he's a prof now, was a rocker back in the day) and I'd contacted him about it years ago. Couldn't find it now, so I fb messaged him, and he said he'd do it for me for free.

So this week when we had our buddy in doing his recording, I conned him into laying down a quickie guitar track for one of my tunes. And I just sent it off now. SO SCARED. But I can mark it off my New Year's Resolutions list, just in the nick of time.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I love the music in That Thing You Do! -- it doesn't hurt that I love that movie in general. So I know you're getting some critique from a Very Talented Person.

Juliebird, so glad to hear that your power is Back On! I expect that the Nor'easter this week would have knocked out a lot more power if not for Sandy taking out a whole lot of trees and poles just previously.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Shiny new thread!

Tomorrow, Chicago!

Yay!!!!!!
