Man, I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing for work today. I spent all morning tinkering with reports I ran last week (and doing one semi-regular task for one of my cubicle-neighbors, but that's completed for the week now) but those don't need to be run anymore and no one has given me anything else to do. The afternoon is a yawning abyss.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Also, periods suck.
Yes. Beyond the telling of it. I'm on month 2 with my Mirena and I've only had some light spotting. OMG, I feel like a new woman.
This headache needs to go away NOW. I have work, karate, and a meeting for CJ's ARP team tonight. I don't have time for this crap.
Emmett's got his tournament team, but he doesn't have a summer job every day during the week so...I'm afraid he's going to be harder to entertain.
Won't some of his friends be hitting driving age now? I think that tends to relieve a lot of parental entertainment responsibilities (which may or may not be comforting).

Emmett himself is driving age though he doesn't have his license yet. And a lot of his friends are driving already. Unfortunately, there's local driving around the neighborhood and then there's having them face rush hour on the Bay Bridge.
Emmett's 17 now, isn't he? Or close to?
(I know my little cousin is a year younger, and he just turned 16. And is ENORMOUS!)
Public transportation is always good for wasting time.
I don't remember having major summer plans in high school -- went to camp for a week or two, did some babysitting, generally hung out the rest of the time. I never had a full-time job until after I graduated high school.
Teen driving in California and Colorado is also limited during their first year. In Colorado for the first 6 months, they can't drive another under 21 year old without an over 21 year old, licensed driver in the car. For the second 6 months, they can only drive one other under 21 year old without an over 21 year old, licensed driver in the car.
We run into this with ARP, multiple kids from the same neighborhood driving alone to calls cause they can't carpool due to their ages. They have to wait a year before they can get approved to drive the team vehicles (including lights and sirens).
So maybe I'm going to set up a personal tumblr that's all Idris Elba, Chris Hemsworth, and feminist rage. That makes sense, right?
Yeah, I can see that.
