I know, world in peril and we have to work together. This is my last office romance, I'll tell you that.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm leaving in a few minutes to pick up Monica at the train station.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have a huge list of things I either need or want to do today, but they may require more spoons than I have.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

More proof that my parents and I have traded sleep schedules: I fell asleep before 10 last night and woke before 6:30 a.m. Meanwhile, they stay up past midnight and start getting up around 10 a.m.

Oh well, at least this morning I've already bought lamb, pork chops, and strawberries at the farmers' market, a 40 oz. pack of fajita meat at the discount chicken store, and walked 2 miles with an eye toward another mile this evening when it cools off and I won't be a dripping ball of sweat afterwards. Now to cool down, shower, and entice my parents to try passionfruit with the French onion chicken casserole I made last night.

My surprise! vacation in 10 days means I need to seriously shape up for all the walking I'll need to do in Florida, so I'm beginning Atkins' induction phase tonight and trying to walk at least three miles a day rather than one. You guys will help remind me that anything carb-heavier than brocolli or strawberries is off limits, right?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've cleaned off enough of the backporch so that if it weren't too chill today, you could sit out and enjoy the fresh air even if it was raining!

I still have a bunch of things to sort & clean & recycle (you can't recycle videotapes, right?) but it's nice to see palpable progress.

I also uncovered most of a run of SON OF SATAN comic books. I paused to roll my eyes at my younger self.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I also uncovered most of a run of SON OF SATAN comic books.

I loved that comic!

Actually, you can. Check out this site: [link]

That's how I got rid of most of my old cassettes and videotapes.

After marketing with visiting boyfriends in tow (not me, obvs,) Sarah got the honor of being my first passenger. We drove over to Sherwood Gardens to get tulip bulbs. It was almost 11, so some of those we wanted (dark purples) were gone, and then we just got pretty random. Of course, we didn't label them, so now it will be a big surprise! I ended up with 28 bulbs, and was charged $5.40. Except they were $.30/bulb. I tried to argue with the woman, but she wasn't having it. I gave her a $20, and when I looked at my change later, she'd given me $15.60. @@ And Sarah was also undercharged, but by a different amount entirely. I think they need wealthy garden ladies with better math skills!

Bulbs are drying out on the deck, will have to remember to plant them this fall. I think I got way too many, but I can share some with Anna.

Then my usual Target/TJ run, with a stop at the dealership (they'd put the wrong date on one of the forms, so of course, I got to sign ALL THE FORMS again. [And yes, I made sure they were identical but for that.]) I think my signature is permanently broken now.

Now home and vegging for a bit before swim time.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It's funny how the hivemind works. I have that link open in another tab because I've concluded it is finally time to toss the old Buffy's and Xena's taped off tv.

Good for you, Matt. I finally weighed back in and realized that I've picked back up five of the twenty-five pounds I've lost and added back an inch everywhere. So, back to what was working for me! I've got to get shipshape before tour.

Thanks, Consuela! It looks like I can use them or [link] ACT Donations.

Most of what I have to get rid of is old Buffy/Angel that's been sitting in a box since before the shows went off the air. I think I have most of it on DVD now, not to mention able to get it through streaming media. (Truly we live in an age of wonders....)
